Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex.
Hi Alex, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started Flash Memories Photo Booth Co. from a simple love for capturing moments and bringing people together. I’ve always been drawn to experiences , the kind that make people laugh, connect, and walk away with something meaningful to remember. I noticed how powerful photos can be, not just as images, but as physical keepsakes (the Photo Booth print-outs) that freeze joy in time.
What began as a small idea slowly turned into a business as I invested in my first photo booth and started saying “yes” to event opportunities, even when I was still figuring things out along the way. Like many entrepreneurs, the early days came with challenges: learning the technical side, building a brand from scratch, finding clients, and balancing consistency with creativity. There were moments of doubt, but also moments that reminded me why I started, especially when I saw guests light up using the booth and leaving with memories they’d cherish and look back on as great memory.
Over time, Flash Memories Photo Booth Co. grew through word-of-mouth, community support, and a commitment to quality and personalization. Each event whether it’s a wedding, corporate event, birthday party, quinceanera, or celebration, became an opportunity to tell someone else’s story while refining my own. I focused on creating a professional, seamless Photo Booth experience while keeping the fun and personal touch that makes our brand unique.
Today, Flash Memories Photo Booth Co. represents more than just a service — it’s a reflection of growth, resilience, and passion. I’m proud of how far the business has come and excited about continuing to evolve, expand, and create unforgettable Photo Booth rental experiences for people in Houston and surrounding areas.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like many small business owners, one of the biggest challenges was starting with limited resources and having to wear every hat — marketing, customer service, setup, breakdown, editing, and admin all at the same time. Learning how to manage everything efficiently while still delivering a high-quality Photo Booth rental experience took time and patience.
Another challenge was building credibility and visibility in a competitive event industry. Early on, I had to prove myself without a long portfolio or brand recognition, which meant consistently showing up, exceeding expectations, and relying heavily on word-of-mouth. There were moments of self-doubt, especially when bookings were slow or when I questioned whether the effort was worth it.
There were also logistical challenges: equipment investments, technical issues, last-minute changes, and the unpredictability that comes with live events. Each obstacle forced me to become more adaptable, detail-oriented, and solution-focused.
Looking back, those challenges shaped both me and the business. They taught me resilience, confidence, and the importance of staying committed to the vision even during difficult seasons. Every setback became a learning experience that helped Flash Memories Photo Booth Co. grow stronger and more refined.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work centers around creating memorable, interactive experiences through Flash Memories Photo Booth Co. We provide modern, high-quality photo booth services for weddings, corporate events, private parties, and special celebrations. While the service itself is fun and entertaining, what we really specialize in is helping people capture genuine moments they can look back on long after the event is over.
I’m involved in every part of the process — from client communication and customization to setup, execution, and breakdown — which allows me to ensure every event feels intentional and personal. I focus heavily on quality, professionalism, and attention to detail, whether that’s through clean booth setups, customized photo templates, or making sure guests feel comfortable and engaged while using the booth.
What I’m most proud of is the reputation Flash Memories Photo Booth Co. has built through consistency and care. Many of our bookings come from referrals and repeat clients, which tells me that people trust us with their most important moments. That trust means everything to me.
What sets us apart is the personalized experience we offer. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach — each event is treated uniquely, with thoughtful customization and a strong focus on customer experience. Our goal is to create a seamless, stress-free process for clients while delivering an experience that feels elevated, fun, and memorable for their guests.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I’ve learned to view risk as a necessary part of growth, especially in entrepreneurship. Starting Flash Memories Photo Booth Co. itself was a major risk. Investing time, money, and energy into something without any guarantees. In the beginning, I had to take a leap of faith by purchasing equipment, building a brand, and putting myself out there before knowing how quickly the business would gain traction.
I don’t consider myself a reckless risk-taker, but I do believe in taking calculated risks. Every decision I make is thought through carefully, whether it’s upgrading equipment, adjusting pricing, or committing to events and opportunities that push me outside of my comfort zone. There’s always uncertainty, but I’ve found that staying prepared and adaptable helps minimize unnecessary risk.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that avoiding risk altogether can be more limiting than taking it. Growth rarely happens in a comfort zone. Each risk I’ve taken has taught me something valuable, even when the outcome wasn’t exactly what I expected. Those experiences helped build confidence, sharpen my decision-making, and strengthen the foundation of the business.
Overall, I see risk as an investment in progress. When it’s approached with intention, planning, and belief in the vision, it becomes a powerful tool for both personal and professional growth.
