Today we’d like to introduce you to Amani Williams.
Hi Amani, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Since my last interview with you all, I have been able to grow my brand in ways I couldn’t imagine. Can you believe we were on TV?
Last time we spoke I was just working more on building engagement and converting sales. I dropped some Full Zip Hoodies and was able to send gear to some celebrities. One of them being Waka Flocka and family. After watching his show on WeTV, Charlie, his daughter, wore my full zip on the show.
As of now, I am working on my next fall collection, where I am collaborating with a special group of guys who name themselves “Change the Narrative.” This drop we are dropping soon will include some oversized T-shirts, hoodies, etc. We are even dropping some kids’ clothing!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Having any business has its ups and downs. For my brand personally, it’s been hard trying to keep consistent content.
I think this past year, I did a variety of photoshoots and tried to keep my page as active as possible but trying to keep a consistent form of content is pretty hard when you have a wide audience. I think my goal into next year will be to get better at organization skills so I can have a month’s worth of content.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
In my personal career, I coach basketball. I grew up playing basketball my entire life and having this opportunity to pay it forward to young women in sports is an amazing opportunity. Not only being able to be there in basketball but just in life is an amazing career to have. Then outside of being able to guide them, they also inspire me. I get to see how well they push themselves every day and remind myself to continue to do the same every day.
Any big plans?
My plan is to actually travel with my business. My ultimate goal is to host pop up shops around the world for people to have at hand access to my brand, this will help with expansion.
