Check Out Annabela Nikolov’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Annabela Nikolov

Hi Annabela, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Since I was little my mother always said I had the biggest imagination and love for bright colors and shapes, and I’ve included that in my art for as long as I can remember. It expresses how I see the world through my eyes.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, I consider myself a perfectionist at times and I’ve had to learn that art isn’t perfect! It’s what you make of it and all I want my art to do is make others happy just like it makes me happy!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in acrylic paintings. I’d say I’m most known for my colorful funky and weird paintings. There are definitely some paintings I’m more proud of than others. And I’d definitely say that my love for colors sets me apart from others. Nowadays the paintings I see are more realistic or duller and darker colors and that expresses other peoples emotions and that’s perfectly fine! But I want my paintings to always express joy!

Any big plans?
I don’t know what the future holds for me! But a lot of my family and friends want me to open up some kind of shop where I can add my paintings on merchandise. I’ve been told my paintings are very fitting for that kind of thing, which I couldn’t agree more but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
