Check Out Anne De la Parra’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anne De la Parra.

Anne De la Parra

Hi Anne, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am health and fitness coach, freelance triathlon and marathon coach, and founder of The Core Lab. The Core Lab is a Pilates Elevated Studio. With a formal education in sports science, I have dedicated my career to helping others achieve their fitness goals. I have been in the Pilates and Fitness world for more than 16 years.

My passion for triathlons and marathons led me to become a competitive triathlete. As an elite triathlete and a certified high-intensity endurance trainer, I understand the importance of strength, flexibility, and stability in achieving fitness goals and improving performance.

So, after many years of working for different studios, I decides to create my own method inspired by many of the already existing methods out there. I named my method “The Core Method,” that is a revolutionary Pilates workout that combines low-impact, high-intensity, very slow, and controlled movements that provide a full-body workout in just 50 minutes.

My method includes strength training, cardio, core stability, endurance, flexibility, and balance, making it the most complete and efficient workout in the industry.

I used to live in downtown and had the opportunity to work in amazing studios. After having 2 kids we decided to move to The Woodlands (Creekside), and when I got here, I realized there was a lot of potential for me to open my own studio. I have to confess I was very scared to do it, but having my own studio was always my dream.

I had developed the method in the Pandemic that included no machines. It was a floor Pilates-inspired workout based on slow movements. When I decided to open my own place, I decided to use this method that combined many other methods and created my own. I designed my Coreformer (our Pilates reformer) with a manufacturer in LA.

We opened after 6 months of LOTS of teamwork that thankfully I have a great found team to work with.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have to say it has been smooth, but obviously, it has been put A LOOOOT of effort and hard work to it. I believe so much in my method, and I have put so much work and love that it has felt easy even though it is always very scary to start a new business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?

I am a passionate in endurance sports and used to do Pilates as my hobby because I really enjoy doing it.

I have my fitness blog in Instagram called The Story of an Iron Girl (@thestoryofanirongirl), where I tell my story as an athlete, mom and now as an entrepreneur.

I am a mom of a 1.3 and a 2.3 years old, and in 4 weeks, I will be having my 3rd kid. I believe that being a mom has made me much stronger and also has made me believe in my dreams and fight for them more than ever.

Since I had my first one, I never stopped pursuing my goals and dreams as an athlete and a fitness coach, and now as an entrepreneur.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Yes, I believe we have to live life very intense. Go out and do all the things we love and all our dreams. We really don’t know what is going to happen in the future. I am a very free spirit, so the pandemic made me slow down and realize I have to fight for my dreams.
