Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Poe.
Hi Austin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was always into music having some success in my city Chicago (before moving to Houston) while growing up & always knew the importance of having merchandise to sell & brand myself. Zoony Life was created which started having people make the merchandise for me there making it myself. I was always good at marketing & knew how to get the merchandise exposure with influencers, models, party promoters, etc, that I was already connected. So through the years every city I would travel to I was making sure to build relationships with the power players of the city’s men & women & making sure they represented the brand & show it to their followers, etc. So just continuing to push through staying focused & building the brand every step of the way has gotten it to the point of where it is today.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing is never easy at all along any journey you take if you want to be great or dope at it. I just jumped into it not knowing what to do or how to do it but it was times when money would be low but you still have to keep faith in the mission ahead. I was having somebody make the shirts & clothing for me so I wanted to cut out the middle man & did my research on what machine items I would need to go ahead & make the designs & merchandise myself. So shout to one of my friends EJ went half with me on one of the devices needed & I got the other devices which I’m forever grateful for him doing that becasue I didn’t ask him to help so that was dope of him & shows a lot of character & he believed in my vision. Having the items I needed to make the designs now, of course, I ran into some struggles messed up shirts along the ay & countless youtube tutorial videos to figure it out, especially doing something with no previous experiences you are going to run into that. Stay the course & before you know it is like riding a bike. Don’t regret none of the bumpy roads because that’s part of your journey.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a music artist & clothing/Lifestyle brand owner of Zoony Life. I have had some cool success musically being played on major radio, being on major outlets & websites for my music. One of my coolest accomplishments was having my song on a TV show on MTV for the millions of people to hear was one of the coolest experiences for me musically. I have created so many cool relationships growing up in Chicago musically that I still have today. One thing that makes me special is that I would always make some magic happen or something that seem far-fetched come to reality. I’m big on bringing my visions to life. When it comes to music I’m very creative in that aspect as I have a passion & love for it. More tv shows & movie placements on the way!! Music has taken me on a journey in my life that has met some cool people along the way in different cities.
Lifestyle brand Zoony Life which consists of T-Shirts, hoodies, and jogging fits, has been super cool for me as I watched it grow over the years. The meaning behind the brand is to chase your dreams bring your visions to life, think outside the box knowing nothing is impossible most importantly inspire people along the way. Make sure to enjoy this life……Zoony Life. Some cool accomplishments are we have had tons of models, TikTok influencers, etc in the merchandise but most importantly we had the Hollywood actress Christine Elsie from the movie Chucky & 90210 wear the merchandise TO me that was super dope & a nostalgia feel since we grew up as a kid watching the movie Chucky. Also, we had Lil Durk’s official tour, DJ Reese in the brand as well & Soulja Boy shout-out as well. We keep pulling rabbits out of the hat & inspiring people along the way with the brand. I’m rooting for the underdogs
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
The advice I would give anybody chasing anything or a dream is to just jump into it!! Don’t be scared or let fear hold you back from anything because time is the only thing you won’t get back. Just jump & dive right into it don’t worry about what you don’t know because the experience will be your best teacher. Stay consistent & focused & remember with the internet you can take it as far as you want to take it
Nothing that I wish I knew because it all taught me rather it was good or bad I would just say keep people that got your best interest or same goals as you around.
