Check Out Betsy Sanchez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Betsy Sanchez.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Our story began a little after March 2020. I was pregnant with my second, my last being 8 years prior, and in the car business for the 15th year. Then Covid hit. At my 35th-week appointment, I was rushed into an emergency C-section because I showed signs of severe preeclampsia. A week later, we made it out of the hospital and we were finally home. I was able to enjoy my newborn for 3 weeks before being rushed back into the hospital and later being diagnosed with sepsis in my blood from an infection caused by my C-section. After finally getting out of the ICU, I spent a lot of time alone and reflecting on life and how precious time is. All l wanted to do was to be at home with my kids and family but I knew that the bills would soon pile up. The department I worked in was shut down while all this happened so I knew I needed to finally do something different, something for myself, and something that would allow me to spend more time with my kids. During my time in the hospital, I started seeing a lot of different balloon displays that weren’t your typical helium arrangements or balloon columns. It definitely sparked an interest and I was soon finding myself watching YouTube videos on how they were made. After finally making it out of the hospital and being back home I decided that I had watched enough videos to “know” what I was doing and ordered a bunch of balloons and the basic tools I needed. (Boy was I wrong) I had our name already bouncing around in my head and ordered shirts as well. Once everything arrived, I gave myself no other choice then to just do it. After many failed attempts, long sleepless nights, and more YouTube videos I finally was able to put what I had learned to the test and offered my services to a local smoke shop that gladly helped me display my work. My first balloon garland lasted at that smoke shop for about 7 months! (Shout out Rock&Rollit) We officially launched our website on September 8, 2020 and the calls started rolling in and, thankfully, have kept coming in. My Sister, Denise, joined me in February 2021 as we started growing quickly. Since launching, we have had the opportunity to create for many clients and vendors and are truly thankful for each and every single person who believes in us and has allowed us to be part of such special moments. We are a family owned Latina Sister Business and have just added our Dad to the team as our Master Woodcrafter. We have so much more to come and can’t wait for you to be a part of our journey!!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Some challenges along the way have been time management & space. Like any new Entrepreneur, I wear almost always all hats. It certainly isn’t easy at times and I’m definitely still learning how to delegate tasks that can be completed by others and if what I’m doing at the moment is the absolute best use of my time. As we grow so does our inventory and having to be able to have everything in the same space and organized is definitely becoming a challenge since we don’t have a storefront (yet).

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We specialize in making our client’s vision come to life! We love creating amazing Balloon displays for all occasions. It amazes us how many times our installations are the main focal point of our Clients’ events that they will use as a backdrop or just as an awesome display and we get to be a part of that in photos forever. What sets us apart from others is that we also offer Custom Floral Chocolate Confections made by us to go with any beautiful Balloon Arrangement or Event. What I am honestly most proud of is being able to help my community back by donating to our followers, schools and local charities. We are always looking for ways to be involved and ultimately my goal is to be able to work with Group Homes & Children’s Hospitals to be able to bring joy to kids who aren’t celebrated or who don’t have the means to.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My Kids, My Family, The little moments in life, & Ballooned because I love what I do. 🙂
