Check Out Brandi Hamilton’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Hamilton.

Brandi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
**Early Beginnings**
I’ve been humming tunes and chasing melodies since I could talk. Growing up in a family where music was a way of life—especially in the church—I always knew a life filled with harmonies was calling my name. My dad, a pastor, and my mom, a singer, introduced me to legends like Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, and Stevie Wonder. Those soulful sounds didn’t just inspire me—they molded me.

By the time I hit 12, I was certain—singing wasn’t just a hobby; it was my destiny. I joined the community choir, and my sister and I turned our living room into a mini stage, perfecting harmonies and working the “family audience” like pros. One of my proudest moments? Singing for the late Rosa Parks. It wasn’t just a performance; it was a moment that solidified why I was made to do this.

**Roots in Tulsa, Oklahoma**
Tulsa, Oklahoma, will always be where my heart started singing. Growing up there meant church choirs, school performances, and building a foundation that shaped everything I’ve done since. I fought hard to attend Central High School, a place renowned for its fine arts program. I like to say, “I’m a seed from Arkansas planted in Oklahoma,” and those years laid the groundwork for every big dream I’ve chased since.

**Career Highlights and Collaborations**
As an independent artist, I created connections that led to forming my first band, Soul Element. That chapter was unforgettable—I got to open for icons like Sheila E, The Whispers, Lakeside, Andra Day, Corrine Bailey Rae, and even shared the stage with Musiq Soulchild. I’ve sung background vocals for Syleena Johnson and lived moments I once dreamed about. After seven incredible years together, Soul Element parted ways in 2021, but the growth, the memories, and the music we made? Priceless.

**The Voice**
In 2019, life threw me a curveball—a surprise invitation to audition for NBC’s *The Voice*. And get this, I thought the email was a scam! I’d never planned to audition for those kinds of shows (I’ll admit, I thought they were rigged). But something told me to take the shot, and I crushed the audition. What followed was a whirlwind experience, balancing the pandemic’s challenges with the thrill of chasing a big opportunity. While I didn’t make it to the finale, I gained unforgettable lessons, connections with talented contestants, and a new layer of confidence in my craft.

**A Dual Dream: Music Meets Real Estate**
After *The Voice*, I packed up and moved to Houston—a city brimming with opportunities, creativity, and energy that felt like home. But here’s where my story gets even more exciting: I didn’t just grow my music career; I stepped into the world of real estate. Becoming a licensed agent in Texas gave me another way to connect with people—helping them find their dream homes and investment opportunities.

And because I couldn’t ignore my creative side, I found a way to blend both passions. That’s how Rhythm & Realty LLC was born—a company where music and real estate collide. Through this venture, I empower other agents to thrive in the industry while building strong relationships with my clients. Rhythm & Realty is all about creativity, connection, and making big dreams happen—whether it’s a home or a heartfelt melody.

**A New Chapter in Houston**
These last three years in Houston have been a ride. I’ve performed in venues across the city and beyond—Dallas, San Antonio, and even back home in Oklahoma—to stay connected with the people who’ve supported me from the start. Intimate private events like weddings, anniversaries, and galas have also become a special part of what I do as a performer.

On the real estate side, I’ve built another avenue to serve my community. Every deal gets my personal touch and creativity, and that same energy I bring to the stage translates to the relationships I build with clients.

**Looking Ahead: New Ventures and Creativity**
Now I’m pouring my energy into exciting projects ahead. I haven’t been in the studio since 2020 so I’m itching to get back in the studio especially on the writing team or artist development side. I also have plans to release a single in late 2025 or early 2026. We will see how the stars align.

I’m also eager to dive back into acting and explore new creative ventures. My debut movie, which was originally scheduled for release in 2021, featured me alongside talented actors Clifton Powell and Tyrin Turner. Although the film ultimately wasn’t released, the experience fueled my passion for storytelling. and I can’t wait to team up with other artists to bring compelling and fresh narratives to life.

**Future Aspirations**
Looking forward, I want to keep growing and inspiring—through my music and acting, as well as my work in real estate, and advocacy for causes close to my heart.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but I wouldn’t trade the journey for anything. Every challenge I’ve faced has shaped me into who I am today.

Balancing my passion for music and simultaneously building my career and legacy as a real estate agent has its moments of self-doubt and frustration, but each setback has taught me something valuable. Even moving to Houston was a leap of faith—leaving behind what was familiar to chase opportunities in a new city.

Still, those struggles have fueled my drive and given me the stories I bring to my art. Every hurdle has been a stepping stone, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come. It’s been a road full of lessons, growth.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an artist through and through—a singer, performer, and advocate with a passion for connecting through music. My journey began in the church choirs, where I fell in love with harmonies and storytelling through song, and it’s grown into something I couldn’t have imagined. Today, I specialize in soulful performances that bring audiences together, whether I’m on stage at a major event, in an intimate private setting, or collaborating with other artists.

I’m most proud of the resilience I’ve shown along the way—whether it’s opening for legendary acts like Sheila E and Andra Day, performing on *The Voice*, or sharing music with my hometown supporters in Oklahoma. Every step has been a testament to hard work and the love I have for the craft.

What sets me apart? It’s my authenticity. I pour my heart into every note, blending my roots in gospel and soul with my own personal style. I’ve got a knack for making people feel something—whether it’s joy, reflection, or inspiration—and that connection is what drives me.

What matters most to you?
Family is my anchor. They’ve seen me at my best, my worst, and everything in between—and they’re still here, rooting for me. That’s unconditional love, and I cherish every moment with them.

Legacy is where my heart really beats. It’s not just about the work I do while I’m here; it’s about the impact I leave behind when I’m not. I want people to remember the passion, the love, and the ripple effect I created.

The why? Because family keeps you grounded, no matter what life throws your way—they’re your constants, your cheerleaders, your safe space. And legacy? That’s about impact—it’s the footprint you leave behind, the way your life echoes long after you’re gone. It’s the ultimate motivator to live with purpose, passion, and a bold vision.
