Today we’d like to introduce you to Braxton Strickland
Hi Braxton, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Well I’m Braxton Strickland! I started filming at a young age because I was a skater and I wanted to have clips of me and my friends doing tricks, so out of necessity I started editing! It wasn’t until the Superbowl one year that I realized what I wanted to do with my life, I wanted to make Superbowl Commercials! (AKA skit based advertisement) Fast forward to the Covid lockdown. I was furloughed from my job selling Lexus’ at Clear Lake Lexus. After that I started reselling sneakers very intently (I had been reselling already as a hobby/side hustle) and I met the owners of Space City Collective. I befriended them quickly and eventually offered to create and run their YouTube page for FREE (they pay me now lol) and since then we’ve gathered millions of views and 10K+ subscribers. At that same time, my father was building Barndominiums, and the designs of these homes were very polarizing for the area, and I suggested that I film and document the whole process ( I had a lot of free time because of the lockdown) Once the home was complete and staged, we filmed a long-form video tour of the home. This video was well received, and The Houston Chronicle came out to do a story on the home. The Houston Chronicle featured the video in their article, and it was at that moment I figured I might be on to something! Now in 2024 we work with multiple business owners in the Houston/Galveston area to provide great multi-media and get companies the attention they’re looking for!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nope, it has not been a smooth road, and it still isn’t! But it’s been worth it. Having a wife and 3 kiddos really puts the pressure on you. I could answer this question for hours
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I own radshackmedia.com and we make videos and advertisements for local business’ (till we can branch out) to use for smm
A benefit of working with us is that I (Braxton Strickland the owner) have been producing music for over 10 years and have a large catalog of royalty free music to use in our videos. I’m often pleased when I read comments that say “Please tell me the song name!” or “What Playboi Carti beat is this again?” I will soon re-enter the music world with my new persona… My old spotify grew to about 4k monthly listeners before I took it down.
