Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittni Sparks.
Hi Brittni , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a proud Houston native with deep roots in Mexia and New Iberia, Louisiana. As the eldest of five siblings and a devoted mother to my daughter, Paisley, I find my greatest joy in family and in shaping a legacy built on love, hope, and purpose.
A passionate advocate for education and community uplift, I began my professional journey in 2010 within the Houston Independent School District, where I served for over a decade. In 2021, I transitioned into the nonprofit sector, continuing my mission to support children and families through innovative educational programs and community-centered initiatives.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication from Texas Southern University and a Master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Developmental Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University. My professional expertise spans team building, strategic implementation, professional development, student achievement, and community advocacy. I have held numerous leadership roles and built systems that continue to promote growth, collaboration, and long-lasting impact.
In 2019, I combined my love for education and creativity by launching my own stationery business, creating engaging workbooks and learning tools for students in grades PreK-5. My entrepreneurial spirit and deep understanding of childhood development allow me to design resources that support academic success in and beyond the classroom.
I am also a proud member of several distinguished service organizations, including Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Top Ladies of Distinction, and Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. Through these affiliations, I remain actively involved in community service projects that uplift and empower others.
A writer at heart, I have kept journals for years, recording my thoughts, dreams, and reflections. This personal practice blossomed into my journey as an author, adding yet another dimension to my life’s work of inspiring and connecting with others.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not. Life has thrown its fair share of trials and tribulations my way—but giving up has never been in my spirit. Every setback has been a setup for a greater comeback. I’m a firm believer that greatness isn’t handed to you—it’s earned through grit, resilience, and relentless hard work.
As a dedicated mother and a driven woman, I wake up each day with purpose in my heart and fire in my soul. I don’t sit around waiting for opportunities to come knocking; I get up, grind, and create them. Whether I’m balancing motherhood, leading in my community, or working toward my goals, I bring my full self—passion, strength, and unwavering commitment.
To me, being a “true woman” means standing tall in the face of adversity, staying grounded in your values, and pouring love into everything you do. I represent the women who rise, no matter what tries to hold them down—the women who keep showing up, even when it’s hard, because we know our dreams are worth the fight.
Success isn’t just about talent—it’s about tenacity. It’s about knowing that you deserve more, and doing what it takes to go get it. I’m living proof that no matter how tough the journey gets, you can still build the life you envision—with heart, hustle, and unshakable faith.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work is rooted in purpose, service, and heart. I’ve spent years leading and working in programs that support children, families, and underserved communities—especially in the early learning and wraparound services space. As a Lead Wraparound Specialist and a Lead Program Specialist, I’ve specialized in connecting families to the resources they need to thrive—educationally, emotionally, and socially. My role has never just been about doing a job—it’s been about creating impact.
As a lifelong resident of SouthPark in Houston, this work is deeply personal. It’s a full-circle moment to now serve and pour back into the very community that raised and nurtured me. I walk the same streets I grew up on, now with the ability to offer support, resources, and hope to others. That sense of home fuels my passion and purpose every single day.
I’m most proud of the lives I’ve touched and the trust I’ve earned. Whether it’s helping a child get access to early literacy support or empowering a parent who feels overwhelmed, I show up with compassion and consistency. I’ve also taken initiative to carry forward the mission of the Early Learning Quality Network by building programs that extend early learning resources through libraries—a space where knowledge, family, and community meet.
What sets me apart is my ability to lead with both strategy and soul. I understand systems, but I also understand people. I don’t just implement programs—I build relationships, cultivate trust, and advocate fiercely for those whose voices often go unheard. I’m a hard worker, a committed mother, and a woman who’s not afraid to roll up her sleeves and get things done.
I bring authenticity, lived experience, and an unwavering belief that every family deserves access to quality support. My work is a reflection of who I am—resilient, driven, and deeply rooted in service.
How do you define success?
To me, success isn’t measured by titles, wealth, or recognition—it’s about impact, purpose, and legacy. Success is knowing that I’m walking in alignment with who I am and what I was called to do. It’s showing up for my family, my community, and myself with integrity, passion, and resilience.
Success is raising my daughter with love and strength. It’s helping someone find hope when they were about to give up. It’s breaking cycles, opening doors, and creating opportunities—not just for myself, but for others who come after me.
True success is waking up each day knowing that I didn’t wait for the world to hand me anything—I went out and built something meaningful with my own two hands, fueled by faith, hard work, and heart.
That, to me, is what it means to truly succeed.
