Today we’d like to introduce you to Chastelle Henry
Hi Chastelle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
How I started my Journey into the World of Craft Business. I started 7 years ago. I use to watch YouTube every night before I went to bed they made it look so easy. I was like I can do this! But I never took it seriously to start until I started planning my wedding in October 2018. My first project I did was made my bridesmaids robes. What started as a hobby, making gifts for friends and family, slowly turned into something more. The turning point came when I made shirts, Tumblers for a loved one, and their reaction was priceless. They encouraged me to sell my work, but I hesitated. Would people really want to buy what I made? The idea of turning my passion into a business was both exciting and intimidating. After much encouragement, I decided to take a leap of faith. I started small—posting pictures of my work on social media and joining local craft fairs. The first sale was exhilarating, and with each new order, my confidence grew.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course, there were challenges. Learning how to price my work, finding reliable suppliers, and managing orders while balancing other responsibilities wasn’t easy. But with each obstacle, I learned valuable lessons that made my business stronger.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in custom items like shirts, tumblers and hats. I offer 360 Photo Booth and Onesie Station for baby showers. I’m known for my shirts. I’m proud of myself because I can see the difference in my work since I started and all my hard work paid off now I have me a she shed to do all my crafts.
Today, my craft business is more than just a source of income-it’s a reflection of my creativity and passion.
Seeing customers appreciate and cherish my handmade pieces makes all the hard work worthwhile. Looking back, I’m grateful I took that first step, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me next.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Yes, I never thought about doing masks until Covid came out. That was very interesting to customize different mask from adults to kids. That was a busy time for me.
