Check Out Cleva Minded’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cleva Minded.

Hi Cleva, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Born 1991 in Houston TX raised in a mixed household was adopted by Hip Hop when captivated by Gangstarr’s song “Moment of truth” after hearing the story telling that the song verbally painted vividly I started digging deeper and deeper into east coast hip hop stumbling upon numerous artist that opened my ears and fully captivated my attention I knew from then on I was destined to be a musician I’ve been on this mission for a while now not really understanding both sides of the music industry referring to the business aspect side of things I started studying up and really being a student of the game with lots of knowledge to still obtain I’m humbly learning from my peers from my own prior mistakes and applying it towards my career I will be great i make music that soulfully is meaningful to me knowing that somewhere out there there is someone who can relate and needs to hear the messages I conduct , my debut EP Titled “Laxidation” is set to be released 07/30/25 full of lofi vibes painting pictures for the listeners with hopes my music impacts them the same way Gangstarr’s “Moment of truth” impacted me the EPs slogan is “I’m going to Laxidate the Nation with this Laxidation”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’d be lying if I said the road has been smooth we all have our struggles rather it be from challenges that present themselves or our day to day lives obstacles can present themselves at the drop of a hat i just stand firm and do my best to adapt and survive I’ve been blessed to have good genuine people around me and that stems from breaking ties and rebuilding so that nobody is trying to bite my hand while I’m reaching for the gravy whenever the table is set metaphorically speaking genuine love and respect is what I seek for every piece matters and plays a huge factor in overcoming struggles that this music road presents

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Have u ever heard of the term “don’t judge a book by its cover” I define that at first glance I’m a little rough around the edges and most people assume one thing and look the other way but it’s those who see through the rough exterior and are really interested in learning or want to challenge them selves and try to understand me that see there’s a lot more to this quote on quote rough exterior I’m just a product of my environment that makes soothing meaningful music I’ve had people tell me that they assumed my music would be more so hardcore hip hop and after listening to my sound it isn’t that in the slittiest i can conduct that type of music but my favorite type of music stems from the soul that music that strikes a nerve deep in ones stomach that’s is what I believe sets me apart so much thought goes into my creative process I don’t just scribble on paper and say ok press record

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Follow your gut and stay true to to self following my gut in the sense of listening to my inner thoughts when they tell me that isn’t the play and staying true to self in the sense of doing what I like not what others expect me to do I use to seek acceptance which put me in a lot of stressful situations had i stayed true to my self then I could have avoided so much unnecessary BS but that’s life you live and you learn
