Today we’d like to introduce you to Cricelda Brewer.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have always been a crafter at heart and love expressing feelings through art and creativity. This brings me to how I started in 2016-2017 after I had my last 2 kids, back to back I was dealing with postpartum depression pretty bad. At first, I started making these cute onsies for my kids and the part of creating a design for the onsies and shirts, helped me put my mind on something else besides the darkness I felt at the time, but it also helped me to bond with my babies. Then I started moving into cups and that’s really where 4Beats Designs really took off. The name comes from having 4 kids and 4 angel babies and being their mother, THEY are the reason why I keep going. They are my heart and the reason it continues to beat. They are part of the reason of where I am now because this is a family business. They (my kids) have helped model and even promote my business lol they are so proud of their mama that they tell everyone look my mama made this or my mama can make this and that and even share my socials lol. They also love going to vendor events with me and even share their ideas. It’s a whole family thing. My parents and siblings are the best support system as well and I wouldn’t be here without them and I can’t thank them enough. I also have gotten here from networking. Networking gave me a whole different boost of confidence that I never had. I learned some much from other business women. I am no where near where I would love to be but the journey has been a whole healing process and I am so blessed that God has been in the center of it all. Because that is who God is! He helped me get through a dark time in my life by creating something beautiful. In every item I create I put my heart in it and I hope whoever the item is for that it brings a little smile, joy and they feel loved.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not easy at all. The biggest struggle for me is me and having to overcome the lack of confidence. Having to promote my business and to talk to people.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I create personalized gift items with epoxy and glitter, sublimation and now recently I have added engraving!!! I customize tumblers, pens, keychains, coasters and much more coming soon. I am very known for my tumblers and pens the epoxy and glittered ones. Most proud of….I am happy knowing the person who received the gift or item they love it just as much as I loved creating it for them!
What sets me apart…My heart. My heart is in every item and I genuinely mean that. Each item I have created is a part of my healing journey.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I now have a vendor space in The Painted Tree Boutiques-Champions location. A future goal is to help other moms & single moms dealing with depression or just an idea to help them start a small business of their own to bring in extra income. I too was a single mother that would have loved to have someone help me back then.
