Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristian Corrales
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
After spending years working in various 9-to-5 jobs, I was searching for something more—something that would ignite my passion and align with my interests. My journey took an exciting turn when I began working for an upscale furniture store in Houston, where I was exposed to the world of high-end furniture and interior design.
Working alongside a great company, interior designers and clients who valued exquisite craftsmanship, I quickly fell in love with the art of curating spaces and handling fine furniture. The experience taught me not only about design and style but also about the delicate process of moving and handling high-value items with care and precision.
I realized that this was my calling. The mix of physical work, creative problem-solving, and the opportunity to make people’s homes truly special resonated with me. This led me to launch my own moving and art hanging business, focusing on high-end pieces for clients who expect nothing less than exceptional care. That’s where the start of my business Lone Star Art Hanging & Moving begin.
I used my industry knowledge to perfect the delicate art of moving and installing fine art and luxury furniture. As a small business owner, I focused on building relationships, providing personalized services, and ensuring that each item was treated with the utmost respect—because I understood the value it held not just in monetary terms, but in the story it told within someone’s space.
What started as a leap into the unknown has since transformed into a fulfilling venture, where I get to combine my love for design, craftsmanship, and helping people create homes they’re proud of.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As a business owner, especially in the moving and art hanging industry, I’ve faced numerous struggles along the way—some expected, others entirely new. One of the biggest challenges has been trying to juggle it all. In the beginning, I wore every hat: doing the physical work, managing invoices, handling marketing, and everything else required to keep the business afloat. It’s easy to burn out when you’re constantly shifting between roles, from moving furniture to crafting social media posts, all while maintaining the quality of service that’s expected from a high-end business.
Another struggle has been finding the right team members who align with our business standards. The quality of service we provide requires precision, care, and an understanding of luxury items—traits that are difficult to find in just any employee. I’ve had to be selective, ensuring that those who join the team share the same commitment to excellence and respect for the work, as it’s not just about moving furniture; it’s about delivering an experience that matches the high expectations of our clients.
It took time to understand that I couldn’t do it all myself. Delegating tasks and finding the right people who share the same vision has been a learning curve, but it’s been one of the most rewarding parts of growing the business. Today, I’m proud to have a team that upholds our values and allows us to continue delivering exceptional service while freeing up my time to focus on expanding the business and perfecting what we do.
It’s been a journey of learning to balance the operational side with the service side of things, and even now, I face challenges—but I’ve learned that persistence, flexibility, and finding the right support make all the difference.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
