My journey is a convergence of resilience, passion, and a steadfast commitment to catalyzing change in both the professional and personal realms.
For over two decades, I’ve served as a catalyst for progress, leveraging my expertise as a Fund Development Executive to champion diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Rooted in a childhood marked by the challenges of poverty, divorce and a parent who was an alcoholic, my journey is a testament to the transformative power of education, determination and community. Despite the odds stacked against me, I nurtured an insatiable hunger for knowledge, recognizing it as the key to unlocking doors for me—but also recognizing that relationships also got me access to many rooms.
I was armed with a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Houston, an MPA in Public Administration, and a Ph.D. in Administration of Justice from Texas Southern University, but also armed with strategic alliances that built bridges to my career paths.
My professional journey has been defined by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a commitment to making a tangible impact in the realm of social justice. I’ve spearheaded initiatives that not only raise funds but also nurture a culture of healing within marginalized communities. Because of my lived experiences, I sought to amplify voices often overlooked in the pursuit of justice.
Beyond the confines of traditional fundraising, my mission transcends transactional interactions; it’s about fostering genuine connections and restoring the humanity often overshadowed by systemic inequities. Through my work, I’ve championed initiatives that empower communities and dismantle barriers to success.
My journey is a testament to the transformative power of resilience and the unwavering pursuit of purpose. Guided by my passion for healing and my commitment to empowering others, I have also become a trusted authority in the wellness industry, illuminating paths to holistic wellness and vitality.
Merging all of my worlds–an executive, athlete, and wellness advocate, I enjoy empowering individuals to sustainably operate at peak performance through my signature framework and methodology deeply rooted in restorative rest and holistic wellness. I have created principles, practices, and spaces that prioritize rest, resilience, and rejuvenation so individuals can perform at work and in life—WELL. I often share my philosophy as a speaker at conferences and through the publications I have authored.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck, whether perceived as a stroke of good fortune or a twist of fate, serves as a guiding force in the intricate dance of life, leading us along paths that are destined for us. There have been moments when serendipity seemed to align the stars in our favor, illuminating the way forward with a beacon of hope and opportunity. In these moments of good luck, I’ve found myself propelled towards new horizons, guided by a sense of purpose and direction that transcends mere chance.
Conversely, there have been times when the hand of fate seemed to deal us a challenging blow, casting shadows of doubt and uncertainty upon our journey. In these moments of adversity, I’ve learned to trust in the wisdom of the universe, recognizing that even the most difficult trials are but steppingstones on the path to our ultimate destiny.
Through it all, I’ve come to understand that luck is not merely a matter of random chance but rather a reflection of the energy we put out into the world and the intentions we hold in our hearts. When we approach life with an open mind and a willing spirit, we invite the universe to conspire in our favor, guiding us towards experiences and opportunities that align with our deepest desires.
In both the highs and lows of life, I’ve learned to surrender to the flow of destiny, trusting that each twist and turn of fate is leading me closer to my true purpose.
