Triumph Through Faith: The Inspiring Journey of Donnette Williams Jones
Born in Oakland, California, I have always embraced the complexities of life. As the only child of both parents, my early years were shaped by a challenging upbringing. Raised in a dysfunctional household, I navigated a world of streets and struggles. Yet, through the turbulence, I discovered resilience and strength, transforming chaos into clarity and violence into victory.
Married to my true love for five years, though we’ve known each other for over 36, my husband has been an unwavering support on my journey. Together, we have created a vibrant family, with eight wonderful children and five grandchildren who fill our lives with joy and purpose.
Faith has been my guiding light, leading me to become an Apostolic Leader for over 20 years. Ordained to preach at the young age of 21, I have dedicated my life to sharing messages of hope and empowerment with others. As the founder of Divine Servitude Reaching Ministries (DSRM), I strive to uplift and inspire those around me.
In addition to my pastoral work, I am also an accomplished author, having penned several books and journals, including My Love Journey, Woman to Woman: Real Life Anecdotes, and Letters to Mothers from Daughters. My writing reflects my passion for meaningful connections and the power of sharing our stories.
My commitment to mental health awareness led me to establish the Forgiveness Movement, a vital initiative focused on promoting emotional wellness. Through this movement, I offer merchandise, prayer CDs, and the Weight of Glory Forgiveness Movement classes, along with the POG Workbook. Each element of this initiative is designed to create a unique Journey for understanding and healing in our lives that will affect our communities.
After spending over 30 years in Houston, Texas, I continue to embrace my journey of transformation. From trouble and trauma to faith and grace, I strive to live a life that is truly unstoppable. My story is a testament to the power of resilience, love, and unwavering faith, and I am dedicated to empowering others to find their own paths to victory.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My experiences taught me that obedience is truly better than sacrifice, necessitating moments of introspection and restarts on my journey toward personal growth. Faith acted as my anchor, navigating me through difficult times and imparting valuable lessons that I apply to all areas of life. Although the journey was arduous, featuring episodes of loneliness, fear, anger, and perceptions of failure and inadequacy, I remained steadfast through persistent prayer and supplication, seeking wisdom and guidance. Furthermore, I had to confront and overcome my own rebellious and stubborn inclinations, ultimately learning to pause and restart, acknowledging that obedience is truly better than sacrifice.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a Certified Christian Counselor, I hold an Honorary Doctorate in Christian Divinity. Furthermore, I am a published author and currently lead 12-week classes for 60 students through The Forgiveness Movement.

I am enthusiastic about the concept of collaboration.
I am currently collaborating with eleven leaders in the Community for Health and Communication.
I am open to sharing ideas and working with others.
