As a Merchandise Manager for Federated Department Stores and a Divisional Merchandise Manager for Zales, he gained a deep understanding of the industry but also recognized the corporate limitations in building customer relationships. Elliott explained, “I realized I could deliver better service and better quality as an independent jeweler.”
From Retail Floors to Private Showroom
Elliott opened the first “Elliott’s Jewelers” store in Tyler, Texas, in 2005. After nearly a decade, he closed the traditional storefront to support his wife, Dr. Alisa White, in her growing career in university leadership. The move to Huntsville opened a new chapter: a private, by-appointment-only experience, run from a tasteful and private location inside a local bank building.
This personalized model allows Elliott to do what he loves most: connect with people. “Diamonds are about more than beauty. They’re about the stories they are a part of: engagements, anniversaries, heirlooms passed from generation to generation. That’s what excites me,” he says.

He travels from time to time to Antwerp, and he maintains direct relationships with reputable diamond suppliers there, ensuring every stone he sources meets rigorous standards. He is a member of the Retail Jewelers Organization (RJO) and the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers, which supports the high standards he upholds for appraisals, insurance documentation, and estate evaluations.
