Today we’d like to introduce you to Gussy Corleone
Hi Gussy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started music early. At the age of 3 my mom bought me a drum set and I was hooked on music ever since. Music was a regular for my family especially being so deeply rooted in church. At the age of 7 I was taught piano at my church and participated in my first recital 3 months later. As the years progressed I learned that I had a gift of being able to play what I hear and that has become a powerful tool musically that I implement daily.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
During this journey of doing music I have encountered my fair share of obstacles. During my youth I didnt have the best means of transportation to get around so I had to learn how to navigate on the buses and trains to get from point A to B. I had friends who I thought was friends still music and opportunities from along the way. And at one point I had a hard drive issue which caused me to lose all the music I worked so hard to create, but still I pressed forward and continued.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a producer, Songwriter, engineer and Artist. What sets me apart from other engineers is my ability to connect and place myself in the artist prospective while working being that I am also an artist. I specialize in production and songwriting. I was taught by Don Medina, when I was younger, to write 3 versions to every song with a different flow to create variation. It has helped me became very intuitive and creative while creating. I have become known for my songwriting ability. My ability to song write has gotten me Grammy nominated in which I so greatly appreciate and am honor for. My ability to be me and create with my own personal likeness sets me apart from all others because no one has the ability to think in ways that I do.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was doing my first recital at the tender age of 7 and as soon as I finished I seen everyone stand and clap and made me feel like I did the worlds greatest job.
