Check Out Heaven Saez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heaven Saez.

Hi Heaven, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Well it started when I was younger I fell in love with drawing and just being able to be myself to freely express through color and creativity. I loved gel pens and would gather all my cousins up to give them tattoos lol !! I always wanted to get into it when I grew up but with all the horror stories of being in a shop apprenticing and being told it would be a struggle it scared me and I didn’t jump to it right away.

Years passed and eventually being an entrepreneur was becoming more mainstream and it came across my mind again that’s when I saw that a spot in the area was doing apprenticeships and was looking for new fresh artist.

So I took the chance and went for it learned the basics which started my journey. The owner wasn’t the nicest person but I knew I had to stick to it and eventually they closed and I had to figure things out. I continued looking at known artist on Instagram and how they tatted and the types of needles that they used and taught myself the rest I needed to become a better tattoo artist.

Every day I’m still learning and I’m proud to see my progress and growth in my own work.

I bounced around from shops trying to find where I belonged. I eventually went back to working at a doctors office while I figured things out did some tattoos at my house of clients that still supported me since day one even when I wasn’t promoting myself at the time which I truly appreciate every single one of them till this day.

Fast forward I took the biggest leap quit my job and went full time as a tattoo artist found a suite tried it out and than linked up with the greatest friend and partner I could ever ask for !! I am thankful for my journey and every client that has come to support my art.

From there Inkfaery was truly what I could imagine full of memories and art that will live on through every person I meet. Every tattoo has a meaning and a story

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smoother ride there were definitely hiccups along the way but I was able to stay strong and continue having faith. Going from shop to shop trying to find which I belonged in being turned down or not getting reply’s back hurt at times. And it wasn’t that my work wasn’t good they just wanted someone with more experience. Being on my own showed me a lot and made me stronger and want to learn more. Now I have my partner who tattoos with me and I am happy and seen my work grows so much. The journey has been worth the ups and downs.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m still working on finding my style as they say I do a little bit of everything and add me into it creatively so I guess I do have my own style it’s me I don’t copy just get inspired by other artist. I love doing portraits, flowers, sea animals, animals, butterflies and scripture. I love dark goth and micro tatts I also love color tattoos and black grey tatts.

I’m very proud of the cover ups I have done I love all art it makes every day interesting and never the same. I don’t like putting myself in a box I like to freely express myself and take on challenges of I haven’t done it before.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I like to read but they aren’t books that are on tattooing I’m more of a hands on so I tend to watch videos if I want to learn new skills. I’m still testing out apps for booking of not I download new games on my phone to play when bored lol !! I do watch podcast but lately I’ve been focused on my son and family just enjoying life and art rather than being on my phone all day i have to be on it for work so i like to enjoy quality time when im free. Social media will always be there but i do live me some watch time on TikTok for some good info and laughs.
