Today we’d like to introduce you to Immanie.
Hi Immanie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up as a PK, music and singing were always a part of my life. What started as something I was expected to do eventually became something I genuinely loved and developed a passion for. Over time, I realized that my connection to music went far beyond singing.
About five years ago, I discovered that I truly belong on stage—not just as a performer, but as a creator. In addition to singing, I produce music and have gained experience behind the scenes as well. One of my proudest accomplishments was serving as a production and project manager for my own show at Texas Southern University through KTSU 90.9. That experience allowed me to combine creativity, leadership, and organization to bring a vision to life.
Today, I see myself as more than an artist. I am a creator—someone who develops ideas, builds experiences, and uses music and entertainment to connect with people in meaningful ways.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Yes and no. One of the challenges—and strengths—of who I am as a creative is that I don’t fit neatly into one box. I explore multiple genres and wear several hats within the music industry, from performing and producing to developing creative concepts and experiences.
Because of that, it can sometimes be difficult for people to define exactly what I do or predict what I’m going to bring. But that’s what makes my work unique. Every project, performance, or creative endeavor is rooted in authenticity, innovation, and a desire to create something memorable.
I thrive on pushing boundaries and blending influences in ways that feel fresh and unexpected. Rather than following trends, I focus on creating experiences that connect with people and leave a lasting impact.
I’m the kind of creative that stays with you. Once you’ve experienced my work, it’s hard to forget. An eccentric stain in your membrane.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Right now, most people know me as a live performer and singer, but that’s only one part of what I do. As I mentioned before, I wear many hats within the music industry. In addition to performing, I produce music, develop creative concepts, and manage projects. In fact, my upcoming single is another production that I’ve been heavily involved in creating.
One of the things I’m most proud of is simply the fact that I’m still here and still moving forward. Despite some very difficult circumstances I’ve faced recently, I’ve continued to perform on stages, tour, write, and record music. That perseverance has been one of my greatest accomplishments, and I don’t take it for granted.
What truly sets me apart is authenticity. Everything I create comes from a real place. My artistry, my story, and my work are genuine reflections of who I am. I don’t try to be anyone else or follow a formula. What people see and hear from me is real, and I believe that’s what allows me to connect with audiences in a meaningful way.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Yes, I would definitely consider myself a risk-taker. One of the biggest risks I’ve taken is consistently believing in and investing in my own vision, even when there wasn’t a lot of outside funding, resources, or support behind it.
As an independent creative, I’ve learned that if you truly believe in what you’re building, you have to be willing to take chances on yourself. There have been times when I was the one driving the project forward, funding ideas, creating opportunities, and trusting the process without any guarantees of success.
Those experiences have taught me resilience, self-motivation, and the importance of betting on yourself. When you don’t have everyone supporting the movement from the beginning, it forces you to become resourceful, disciplined, and fully committed to your goals. That’s a mindset I’ve carried with me throughout my career.
