Check Out Isaiah Parks’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaiah Parks.

Hi Isaiah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always loved music I started off as one of the youth choir directors at a church I went to growing up, and my passion and love for all kinds of music grew from there. I had confidence growing up but I never thought I was good enough to really be in the music industry, even though I really wanted to so after years of telling everyone I wanted to be a doctor and work in the medical field, I made a life change and dropped that ideal my first year of college and changed my major to music business. I didn’t finish my degree but I went on to intern and work for music labels like Music world with Matthew Knowles and Rca inspiration as an artist liaison. I got to meet dope people, while not only working on the business side of music but also being able to song-write and produce for some cool artists. As I headed into my mid 20’s I knew I had to get serious about the music industry because I begin to manage artists under my music entertainment brand Vibes & Visions. I knew I needed to learn and study more about the inner workings of the industry so I began to read countless books one of my favorites was “All You Need To Know About The Music Business”. I learned a lot through reading and of course trial and error. As much as I had a passion for Music I also had a passion for production, content creation and Networking, If anybody knows me they know connecting the dots and connecting people is one of my greatest strengths.

So before the pandemic, I put on a few events that did just that one was called Vibe Connect where like-minded creative could meet and share their visions and create. Another was called catch the vibe brunch which was just a good time surrounded by good people with a 90’s R&B feel and theme. but then the pandemic hit and that all shutdown. although I hated being shut down It allowed me to think and to create which brought one of my greatest passions and creations The Session. It’s a Music Platform that provides talented and neat level artists the space to truly show their gift. Its a full live band performance but it still has a stripped down feeling. I started the Platform in September of 2020 and it grew to 12,000 Subscribers and over 1.1 Million views in a year. I’m so excited for where it is going we have worked with a few artist Like Jaden Gray, Ahjah Walls, Keisha Rene and Perri Jones to name a few who have truly helped put the platform on the map and inspired many other artists to participate in the series.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road most of all my ventures have been self funded and ran with a small team one of the main supporters and helpers being my mom. Many days I truly wanted to give up days where I felt I had no support I did events where people didn’t even show up and I had to push through all of that to get to where I am now. My passion and drive powered me through every struggle and obstacle that came my way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am Mostly known for the content and events I produce. I created a few events that allow for networking and good times. Catch The Vibe Brunch and Vibe Connect are actually some of my dopest projects. The Brunch allows you to go back to the 90s and vibe with themes like Martin, Fresh prince, fueled with mixes of 90s r&B and current popular music. Vibe Connect is a networking event where simply put creative people can connect with other creative people. I Specialize in dot connecting which is what made me fall so deeply in love with managing artist and cultivating their talent. One of the current artists I manage is Ahjah Walls she is a super talented vocal monster. My greatest accomplishment so far is the Music platform I have created called The Session. A place where an artist can share their talent with the world through a live performance video. The Session has grown so much in a short time we currently have 15.5k Subscribers and over. 1.6 Million Views on YouTube.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
when you are searching for a mentor making sure it is someone who is either where you are going or want to go. Or someone that has the knowledge and skills that you would like to gleam. A Mentor is there to guide you as you walk through your career and life path. you always want someone who has the time to dedicate to you and most importantly the willingness to actually take you on as a mentee. I find networking to. be one of the greatest tools in anyone’s bag when it comes to trying to get to the next level in your field of choice. Networking is so important, when you are in rooms meet as many people as you can engage in conversation. It’s an art and science to truly effectively network but it’s not hard. Don’t be to pushy don’t go right in with your life story or your goals and ambitions sometimes a simple conversation about someone’s pet or a funny story can open the door to a true connection with someone who can change your life for the better. Networking can be uncomfortable for people more on the introverted side, but find that thing inside you that can push past your guards and truly allow you to meet great people. I find myself when I’m in a room observing different people who they talk to how long they converse and usually the subject matters that tend to intrigue people. Studying the room and understanding the temperature of the room will help you as you speak to people sometimes when you are meeting people we tend to only try to talk to people we feel are important but there are some game-changers in the rooms you find yourself in who might look like a plain old person but maybe a Titan in their industry.
