Check Out Isiah Thornton’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isiah Thornton.

Hi Isiah, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I am Isiah Thornton. I am 24yrs old from New Orleans, La. I moved to Orlando, Florida to start my Modeling Career in 2017, where I did a few photoshoots. In 2018 I moved back to New Orleans to further my career. In the Summer of 2019, I joined Launch Model Management to improve on my model walk and pose. The Fall of 2019, I participated in my first runway fashion show in New Orleans Fashion Week. And from there, my career took off. October 2019, I did LA Fashion Week, and in November I did Dallas Fashion Week. I also was nominated and won to be on the front cover of a Fashion Magazine. As well as I appeared in two clothing commercials, did a Calvin Klein photo shoot. At the end of 2019, I singed with Hannah Noelle Modeling Agency. And in February 2020, I had the opportunity to walk in NYFW. In 2021 I had when to LA for the bet weekend, and I had got to a few events. I when to the bet fashion show and I went to Snoop Dog party. I also walk the red carpet at snoop dog party. I also got Interview by Nikki Rich. I also walk the red carpet at the bet awards party pre and after. I got the opportunity to be publish in another Fashion magazine call VoyagerLA. Then that bring us to September I got the chance to make it to NYFW 2021 i got the opportunity to walk in 2 big show and also I got invited to a lot of events and I also have got my very first billboard in Time Square. I did not walk but I got invited to Met Gala and Tom Ford fashion show. But I did  walk the red carpet for everything Nyfw show after party. My Instagram is itsisiahthornton I been on a billboard in New Orleans and also Atl I also been featured in Getty images in 2021. I did my first PARIS fashion week in 2022 and also I just got done with NYFW in sept of 2022 and walk the red carpet again. And did walk in walk of my favorite fashion shows what made this show my favorite because we walk backwards you really never see a fashion do that. 2022 we broke the world record with the most model touch the runway that was so cool to be apart of. Now to 2023 so 2023 was kinda started off horribly for me I had got so sick and also I had got a procedure done and my foot was so swollen I could even move or walk. So I had to skip all the fashion weeks in the beginning of 2023 to get better and I finally heal after of that so I had booked for the jazz festival and I had a partner up with this brand called spiritualcowboy and have been working and shooting with them oh and filming I just got don’t filming a commercial with the brand that will be aired soon and also booked for Miami swim week. All the fashion weeks are around the corner so let make some new moments. Also I can’t end this with out saying 2023 I have got another article with voyager magazine Houston. I love that I can talk about everything I got and did for my career I did so much with out no agent or no manager or pr. I’m pound to say I have been working and I will not stop.one last thing I had got booked for a Louis Vuitton show but had got replaced by a white model with a great agent. I did not have no one in my corner to help me fight I’m not signed to no agent and I am current not signed.

My love for Fashion, being photographed, and, of course, the adrenaline rush of walking the runway with all eyes on me are some of the reasons I chose to become a model.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s has not been as smooth as I thought it would be to be honest. I have been turned down for so many events and shows because I don’t have an agent, and because of the color of my skin, I am self-made. I have book my own shows my own shoots, and did my own billboards. The biggest struggle I’m dealing with the most is to find agent that fits my needed booking shows and getting seen in front people is not a hard task at all I need that agent that can take me far I can only do so much on my own a lot of people don’t take me seriously because I don’t have any representative by no agents.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
To be honest I really working on looking for the right agent or right manager that can take me farther into my career see what they can do for me within the next 5 year to be honest see I did so much on my own and put so much and time into my career I’m in front of the right people but Ike I said they are not taking me seriously with a strong agent. Who else deserves credit in your story?
I would like to give credit to my mother for having me and also being super supportive, and also wanna give credit to my boyfriend he has always show support and love. I also wanna give credit to family and friends that have show nothing but love.
