Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaqueline Duque
Hi Jaqueline, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started the small business venture with a snack cart called @snackietopia.
And we were going to events that included other face painters, so my background in fashion design kicked in and I thought “I should try face painting”. So after my pregnancy i decided to give it a shot. It allows me to spend five days with my baby, and just work two or three days per week, and especially after being in retail for so long, I appreciate the face painting because it gives me more time to spend with my family.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Yes it has been pretty smooth, not very many struggles because I really enjoy doing this.. also being around kids is something I really enjoy, and as they say.. “if you do what you love, is it really considered work?”
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Well my work varies from face painting, temporary tattoos, gem and glitter bar, and working a snack cart. But I specialize in face painting, and that is what my business is most known for.
To me, my customer service sets me apart from others, and I like to listen to their ideas and try to make them as happy as possible. Another thing that I think sets me apart is doing whole faces as well
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
How to run a business the right way, and how to keep the customer happy and satisfied.
Also working with kids makes it well worth it because no matter how your day is going before hand, while you’re there with this kids, the most important thing is satisfying them.

- Face painting: 75$ per hour
- Temporary Tattoos: 50$ for the first hour and 25$ every hour past
- Balloon Twisting: 50$ for the first hour and 25$ every hour past
- Glitter/ Gems bar: $100 per hour
- Colored Hair Extensions: 40$ per hour
