Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Knight.
Hi Jeremy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
UPTIME Film’s owner, Jeremy Knight, began his journey in the film world as a passionate movie buff. He often spent hours browsing the various titles at his local Blockbuster in Chicago, where his father worked. This early exposure to film set the stage for a lifelong passion for the medium, which has only grown over the decades. The cinema became his second home, nurturing a passion for film, popcorn, Coke ICEEs, and Coen Brothers classics. He pursued his interest in the subject by studying film at San Jacinto College, where he graduated with an Associate of Arts (AA) in Film Production. Over the next five years, he worked on hundreds of projects as a videographer and editor for his own clients and numerous local studios. He grew to love documenting local business stories and events, as well as showcasing their products and services to potential customers.
UPTIME Films was founded by Jeremy in 2017 as a full-service video production company serving industrial and medical organizations operating in complex, safety-critical environments. Today, they proudly reflect on this 8-year journey, having worked on hundreds of diverse projects and brands across numerous industries. They have had the opportunity to work with so many incredible people along the way, documenting the many unique stories they have to share. and look forward to serving their future clients with the same passion that ignited UPTIME Films.
UPTIME Films wouldn’t be the company it is today without the unwavering support of family, friends, and clients who have carried it and supported the business from the beginning. Jeremy attributes his personal and professional success to the unwavering support of his parents, siblings, grandparents, and amazing wife, Marissa. Their involvement and encouragement have nurtured his passion for storytelling from his early days at Blockbuster to his current role as the Creative Director of UPTIME Films. Jeremy and Marissa live in League City, TX, where they watch movies, stand-up comedy, and baseball, and are kitty-parents to two beloved furry companions and company mascots, Yogurt and George.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Our diverse portfolio has been both a strength, allowing us to refine and adapt our approach to fit varied production environments, and a challenge in establishing a niche in our creative industry. In recent years, we have narrowed our focus to working exclusively with brands operating in regulated environments, which has allowed us to refine and simplify our offering to better align with their specific needs.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
