Today we’d like to introduce you to Jesse Mccall.
Hi Jesse, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Well, my story is definitely interesting! Being a full-time videographer was not in the plans. My life was headed down the corporate route. Becoming the top banker in Houston was a goal for me. Videography/Photography was only a hobby. The passion was there but the risk was a mountain I was afraid to climb. Until I eventually was fired from my job. I was forced to be more creative than I ever been. The one for certain thing for me was not going back to a 9 to 5. I enjoyed the experience but that chapter was ending. A customer once told me, “think about what you are good at with your hands before you leave this job”. Thankfully I found the answer before the storm. I picked the camera up and never looked back. My wife started an online handmade jewelry company called (Let’s Meet Friday). I took on the role as the Content Creator. My skills in photography/videography started to flourish. People began noticing my work and inquiring about my services everyday. This is how Express Marketing was created. We focus on content building for multiple small businesses and brands. Let’s work in the near future.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think with anything, there are obstacles and challenges. As a Creative Director, there’s soo many other things outside of the creative part that requires the same amount of focus. The behind the scene things are what really run a successful business. Never forget that!
The biggest challenge I’ve faced was not knowing my worth. I didn’t know how to price my services at the beginning. Doubt and fear constantly controlled my judgment. But it wasn’t long before I realized I was undervaluing myself. So what you believe you’re worth stand by it. Only you will know.

As the Creative Director of Express Marketing, I specialize in Videography & Photography. I believe what sets me apart as a creator is that I’m just as passionate about the project as my client may be.
I strive for quality and cinematic feel in my work. I sometimes spend hours on something that is only a split second of the video just to make sure the story is told correctly. That makes my style unique!
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Just make sure you absolutely enjoy what you doing. Don’t do something for the rest of your life that doesn’t bring you joy.
