Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaitlyn Anderson.
Hi Kaitlyn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
How much time do you have? Lol. My journey has been all over the place throughout my twenties and thank goodness because it’s led me to where I am today and I love what I’m building.
I graduated with my BSN, RN degree and started out my early twenties working at Metropolitan Med Spa by the galleria as a Nurse Injector. During 2020, COVID shut down the spa for a few months and that’s when I started getting into content creation by making videos as a creative outlet. When we reopened, I had a gut feeling that it was time to leave the spa and move back home. From there, I worked as an OR nurse for a few months which helped ultimately confirm the burning desire I have always had to work for myself. I hung up my stethoscope ~literally~ and continued making videos but still needed to be working if my parents were going to let me live at home.
And so begins my Real Estate journey! What better way to start working for yourself, right? I knew my ultimate goal was to be a content creator and have nothing to do with real estate but at least getting my license would buy me some time to keep making videos and satisfy my parents to where I was working towards something that made sense rather than making videos- this wasn’t so well known in 2021 like it is now, especially to parents and older.
I passed my exam, got my license, and even joined KW in Houston where I thought I may move back. Time passed and I slowly kept putting off the checklist of tasks to get started in the field but continued making videos and have been ever since. I’m glad I never stopped.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I think the time to try everything and figure yourself out is in your twenties because it really sets the tone for the rest of your life. While this decade had held some of my biggest struggles, disappointments, and confusion, it has also been the most transformative and blessed years. I am so grateful now at 30 for the journey I’ve been on. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have found something I truly love and it’s only been possible because of Jesus guiding me every step of the way.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a content creator who really leans into savoring every season. I post a daily video on either a healthier recipe, DIY, decor idea, experience, home hack, etc. My goal is to inspire a healthy lifestyle and bring joy to my viewers. One of my highest values is experiences so I love to make even the mundane days a little more special. I am proud of showing up every day even when I don’t feel like it. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the power of consistency. So by posting my daily video and talking on stories to the camera, I know that I am building that trusted connection with my audience that I strive for.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I bought a one way ticket to Thailand in January 2024 to go live over there a few months as a digital nomad and figure out what I wanted to do with my life. Around 2 weeks before leaving, I do what I do best and listened to my intuition that I should cancel my flight and instead go all in on content creation in the ‘seasonal’ niche. Sometimes you don’t need to travel across the world to find yourself, you may already know- just listen!
