Check Out Khay Nicole’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Khay Nicole

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
A lot of people know me through modeling which is how I built my name from ground up. I grew up modeling. I started when I was very young so that will always hold a special place in my heart. I also started singing at a very young age as well. My grandad Eddie Giles was a pastor and well known musician in my hometown so I was always singing in the church choir. 2 years ago I was going through a heartbreak and I had so many emotions I wanted to release but wasn’t quite sure how. My closest friend who was actually my first ever feature suggested that I make a song about it which is titled “Love on Riverdale” and the rest is history.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
So far it has been smooth. I’m just having a lot of fun with it right now as far as trying different beats and sounds with my voice. Challenging what all I can do with my voice and how creative I can get is really exciting. Although, I get overwhelmed at times because I don’t have a team behind me and I’m doing everything myself it can be a little frustrating and hard but nothing in life comes easy so I’m just learning as I go.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My name is khay Nicole and I am an independent R&B artist and model originally from Shreveport, Louisiana. I am known for commercial modeling, doing fashion shows around the city and even mentoring and coaching upcoming models who are fresh in the industry. I am most proud of always taking chances on myself. Never boxing myself in and allowing myself to try anything I set my mind to. I’ve been in magazines, websites, beauty supply stores etc. I’ve done so much but I want so much more. What sets me apart is that I don’t box or limit myself. Im so creative in so many different ways and I love that the most about myself, being able to showcase different sides of me all at one time.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Lately I’ve been listening to this podcast called Deeply well with Devi Brown. A close friend of mine actually recommend it to me a few weeks ago and it’s been really helpful as far as mentally and just taking life one day, one hour , one minute and one second at a time.
