Hi Lauren, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Lauren Clark aka DJ LC I have been a professional open format DJ and MC for 6 years.
I have always loved music, I grew up singing and being involved heavily in music as my mother was the minster of music at our church growing up.
I had always had interest in learning to DJ during the pandemic I went out on a limb and took my shot. I’ve been at it ever since.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I definitely wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth road it’s been a journey but with every bump in the road you learn how to navigate and pivot. Each experience is vital to you gaining the necessary tools to help advance you and take both your business and your craft to the next level.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an open format DJ and MC. I also plan, curate and host events as well! I believe my professionalism sets me apart from others. Everything I do I put 100% into it to make sure my clients/ consumers are getting the best experience possible every time.
I am extremely proud of my partnership with Tha Red Door in Third Ward were I curate multiple events for them every week.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
As a creative the biggest risk you have to take is on yourself. You have to be comfortable/confident with putting yourself out there because it’s apart of the process. Especially in this day and time when social media is the most effective tool we have to share our creativity. So even if it’s not perfect don’t be afraid to just do it and put it out. Take the risk on you.
