Hi Lunaro, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Hi there!
Thank you for inviting me on your platform!
I am Lunaro Moreno and singing is my full-time job. I was born and raised in a small town called Miguel Aleman/-state of Tamaulipas, Mexico. Where I lived until the age of 7. The population at that time (2004-05) was about 13-15,000 people- so you know everyone knew each other!
I always knew from an early age that I was a big city kinda person, I knew I wanted to live somewhere else- but girl! -– I never expected to move to the US. I grew up in a loving home – with 4 other siblings (I was the middle child).

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
2006-07 was the year that my family decided to move to the US. The border cities of Mexico where we lived were now unsafe. My parents wanted a better life for my siblings and me and staying in the same city meant risking our safety and future.
Growing up, I dealt with an identity crisis.
Being a 1st generation immigrant-at that time- undocumented. I didn’t feel like I belonged anywhere really affected me a lot. I somehow managed to learn the language very quickly thanks to CW39 on Saturday mornings watching Pokemon, Yugioh, and others! -Those were the days! The road I took definitely has had its bumps. Coming into a different world and language is very tough.
My path goes a bit deeper later after moving to the US. I experienced discrimination like verbal abuse from my very own educators at school along with others things that I prefer not to open up yet about. I have forgiven them all now- but I never forgot. You see, those are the things that kind of mark people for a very long time. But today I admit that I am much stronger.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Today, after many years- I am part of several bands in Houston like Bulbo Houston (my home band) We play anywhere relating to music such as festivals, weddings, Divorce parties lol- You name it! I am also part of Dream Band & Mendeliz Music – ( 2 other bands). I also am booked separately to fly around the US states to sing in weddings – which is one of my all-time favorite things to do.
One of my most recent projects that have been doing very well has been an opportunity with a company called Fever
( Candlelight Concerts). It’s a Unique, one-of-a-kind concert and intimate experience where music is played around hundreds of candles. I happen to be one of the first Latino singers in the US to open up a Spanish Tribute. For The Mexican Legend: Juan Gabriel.
Every show has been sold out for about the past year and a half so if you are interested- get your tickets fast!

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
The biggest advice I would give someone would be to try to learn how to be curious.
For anyone who might be reading this, everyone is good at something. You never know you try! If you haven’t found it yet- look around! There are social media with endless possibilities filled with knowledge.
Another one would be to learn to be brave.
I grew up being afraid for way too long;
Things need to change if you want to make a change in your life but its okay to go one step at a time- its not a race be good to
yourself❤
Thank you once again for taking the time to learn a little bit more about me.
I’ll see you around maybe? 🌙
