Today we’d like to introduce you to Mizzy M.
Hi Mizzy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am an upcoming female artist raised in Alief. I first had the ambition to play basketball all my life. To go to the WNBA, and then that passion for it went away due to family issues, coaches, and I wasn’t good mentally. I felt as if I could no longer play as I used to play. I moved out of my parents’ house mid-senior year and moved in with a guy that used to look out for me, we would go to different lounges and karaoke spots, and I would perform at them. (Brief story)
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey has been smooth so far; everything has been coming naturally to me. In the first 3 months of me starting my rap career. I have managed to perform at the house of blues, and I was able to step foot into different doors to meet new people and to discover more on how the business is. After performing at different Venues, clubs, events, etc. I have managed to get looks from different managers and ARs that wanted to help me pursue my vision and goals of what I want to become. I am big on not forcing anything and just letting Yahweh take the wheel over my life. I have managed to also throw my very own first event called “underground society” that went really well back in July. I am excited to see what’s to come in the future for me, and I know that it may be a few bumps down my journey, but I will be ready for them.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an Artist that can deliver and genre of music at your front door. I specialize in songwriting and curating events. I am an owner of Undergroundsocietyhtx. I am known for my versatility great lyrics, and stylish looks! I am mostly proud of how far I came from and what I have accomplished so far. I feel like what separates me from others is my willingness to just be Me and take risk, my versatility, my look.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I wouldn’t say luck; I would say blessings. It has been a great honor already to be played on a well-known station such a 93.7 the beat and to be a part of short films. To be in rooms that not many people can be in and just to throw my own event without any guidance was awesome. I feel as if everything happens for a reason, and you only get what you put out. I would want to pour out inspiration, blessings, and life to those who listens to me and my music. I have been blessed so far with many opportunities and challenges down my journey, and I am grateful for every bit of it because it has helped me with my own development.
