Hi Nancy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
The Watering Hole Mobile Bar was an idea born shortly after our wedding in January of 2020. We are husband & wife owned and our favorite dates are just finding a new bar or brewery, trying the newest drink edition to the menu, and striking up a conversation with the bartenders. After our wedding, we could not stop talking about how every perfect moment and detail was made possible by our incredible vendors. The magic and energy they all brought to our event was infectious and we wanted to be able to create that same experience for others in a way that felt special to us. We brainstormed how we could make a bar experience come to life and landed on a mobile bar we could bring to our clients in any way they wanted! Fast forward to today, we fully renovated a 2 horse trailer (completely on our own) to a more neutral and modern theme. We have served at showers, bridal stores, retail grand openings, and weddings!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has been nothing close to smooth. As we conceptualized our idea, we, along with the rest of our nation, were struck with the Covid pandemic. This could have been such a perfect time to shut this dream down, but instead, we used the time at home to really jump in to our renovations and iron out our business plan. But, how do we gain clients in a strict Stay Home order? We had to jump in head first to network through social media and local small businesses to spread the word of our addition to the industry. Turns out, this industry is just as gracious and supportive as I envisioned. I would not be here today without the help of other incredible industry vendors and friends.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Creating a unique bar experience for your event is what the heart and soul of our business is. Our name symbolizes a place where you can gather around good company and good times, all while sipping on your favorite beverage. Our hope is that we can provide a place for people to laugh, tell stories and make lasting memories. We specialize in creating custom cocktails for your events theme and aesthetic, however, we also want the bar to be a true extension of your event as a whole. This means the decor, the bar menu, the garnishes, and the details. Our neutral and modern aesthetic really set us apart from any other mobile bar experience, but the service you will receive is what takes the cake.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see the bar experience in this industry truly becoming more important. Think about it, its truly the cherry on top of an event! It is what sets apart good events, from great events. Celebrations in general are becoming less traditional and more unconventional, which we LOVE! We are seeing events becoming more customizable and truly a reflection of the hosts, which hands down creates the most special experience for everyone involved. I think with the hand of a talented and creative coordinator, our bar experience will be included at venues, private parties and even events outside the wedding industry.
