Check Out Nina Paul’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nina Paul.

Hi Nina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi I’m Nina Paul. That’s also the name of my new brand. It’s my name and my dad’s middle name. I’m my dad’s only child and he is no longer physically with me, so I decided to honor him. I grew up in a family of beauty queens and beautiful women so I decided I either was going to do hair or work in the medical field. I grew up doing both, until I made a lot of money at the time doing hair and makeup. I put medical billing on hold to become a full-time makeup artist. I started going to local strip clubs and doing the girls makeup there and that’s when I completely fell in love with beauty. Those ladies are some of the most beautiful beings. S/O to Tammie, I love you Madison, to Mystery, Laylay, Tootie, Alex hey Bestfriend, Barbiekayy, and all the other ladies who’ve supported me through my journey. I love y’all dearly. Today I consider myself a private MUA. I cater to women who enjoy a private experience where they can be themselves. I do have a list and most of my client sign nondisclosures. This is my passion and I fall in love with makeup every day.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been a smooth ride but not easy. Some of the struggles I’ve faced were just changes in the economy. Makeup, to some, is not as important when the price of gas is almost $5.00 a gallon so I any advice I would tell anyone is to save your money, make it a career, and or have a second job to be prepared for times you won’t make money

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a makeup artist. I specialize in creating an experience for a woman. When you’re paying for a service, you want to feel like it’s worth it. I remember my clients’ birthdays. I’ve spent time with their children, and I’ve been a seamstress, a beautician, a nurse, and a therapist. But that comes with customer service and I’ll do it all over again with a smile.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
You have to take a Risk to get the Reward! You never know if you don’t try. I left a job in the medical field with a secure paycheck to start something with no income coming in at all but I believed in myself and I made it!
