Check Out Noemi Perez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noemi Perez.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up in a small town, always fascinated by health & how I could help others. I wasn’t sure exactly what path I wanted to take, but I knew I wanted to make a difference. I started out as a dental assistant for 5 years, but wanted more for myself. I discovered dental hygiene & it felt like the perfect fit. I decided to take a leap & move to Houston to study dental hygiene, even though the city was much bigger than what I was used to. The transition was tough at first; adjusting to the past face of life & the demands of school, but I pushed through. I graduated & landed a job at a busy dental office in Houston. It was overwhelming at first, but it helped mold me into a better clinician. Though I was loving the connections I was making through the company, I felt something was missing. I was helping people, but I wanted to do more. I wanted to reach more people and do it in a way that felt true to who I am.

Scrolling through social media made me realize how much the the dental community was connected. That’s when the idea hit me. Why not do something to engage more into the dental community not just in my city, but in other parts of the world. I started creating funny, relatable content about dental care, skits about dental clinician problems, & hilarious day to day experiences as a dental hygienist. To my surprise, it took off. My followers loved my mix of humor & positivity, & I quickly found a community of people who not only enjoyed the humor in my content, but also the transparency through my journey.
Now, I’m a full time dental hygienist, full time content creator spreading laughter & positive vibes while still helping people take better care of their teeth.

My next step is to reach more people around the world by doing mission trips & spreading the word of God. I recently experienced the love from Guatemala by volunteering in a dental mission trip where I was able to provide essential care to undeserved communities. The experience was eye-opening & deeply rewarding as I worked alongside my fiancée & passionate team to address oral health needs in remote areas. Seeing the impact of our work, not just in terms of dental care but in the smiles & gratitude of the people we helped, truly inspired me. I pray God continues to bless us through this journey of service & opening doors where it’s needed to make a difference in others lives.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Becoming a dental hygienist was a journey filled with challenges that tested my determination & resilience. Early on, I faced rejection when I was denied entry into the program twice. I was also told by a hygiene director back home that I should consider changing my major because the chances of getting accepted were limited. Each setback was painful, but it only strengthened my resolve to keep moving forward. I made the tough decision to move to a new city away from my parents to continue chasing my dream.

Living away from home was a big adjustment, but I stayed focused on my goal. Yet, the biggest challenge was when I failed my boards on the first attempt. It was a crushing moment, but I refused to let it define me. I doubled down on my studies, sought out additional support, & pushed through the self-doubt.

Through the grace of God I passed my boards on my second attempt. It was an amazing feeling, it felt like the culmination of all that hard work & perseverance. And to top it all off I was honored with the Golden Scaler Award, a recognition of my commitment & dedication to excellence in dental hygiene. That moment reminded me that, despite all the challenges , every step of the journey was worth it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a dental hygienist with a passion of promoting oral health, but I’m also deeply invested in using my platform as a content creator to spread positivity with laughter, joy & faith. I’m known for creating content that not only makes people smile, but also encourages them to live a more positive & faith driven life. I love being transparent on social media, sharing the word of God in a way that’s genuine & approachable for everyone.
What sets me apart is the combination of my professional expertise in dental hygiene & my mission to spread positivity through humor & faith. I don’t just talk about teeth & health, I use humor to bring joy into people’s lives while making sure I also share uplifting messages & staying true to one’s values. I’m passionate about helping people see the beauty in both their smile & their spirit. I’m proud of the community I’ve built in & out of social media. I’ve had people reach out to me saying that my videos or posts helped them get through tough times or reminded them of their faith. Knowing that I’m making a positive impact on people’s lives while keeping things lighthearted & fun is incredibly fulfilling.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My success is a combination of factors. While I didn’t have formal mentors, I’m a firm believer that God played a significant role in guiding me through the process. My parents have always been a source of love & encouragement, & my fiancée has been an incredible support system. Their belief in me & constant encouragement helped me get to where I am today. Additionally, I have to give credit to my followers on social media, whose support & feedback have inspired my to keep pushing forward & striving for more.
