Today we’d like to introduce you to Official 2Stoned.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always been interested in the music industry and scene since a very young age the earliest I can remember is back in the day when I was like 8-9 years old jamming out to stuff like Ludacris chicken and beer and seeing the music videos on tv enjoying the hustle and creativity behind everything on top of the music being super dope. Around 15 years old, A good friend who was a few years older named DJ Currensy gave me the opportunity to be his helper just carrying around equipment/crates/etc. whatever he needed I was there to help out so I started learning more about the scene while still working on my music. In high school, I didn’t get a lot of support but that was ok because I still just did my thing and I was releasing so much music all I did was record because I built a home studio in my house so I had access to make music whenever I wanted. During high school, I released probably over 200 songs. I was always remixing any new song that came out and at this time, SoundCloud was very fresh so I did numbers on SoundCloud and was getting a good Fanbase online. As soon as I graduated high school in 2012, I knew it was time to take it to the next level and really turn things up. I ran across a guy named Lil Sicc who I already knew about in the scene from doing shows with DJ Currensy. So I messaged him on Facebook and I told this guy what I wanted to do and he helped me immediately and was always supporting whatever I was trying to do. We got to work and started making a lot of noise in Austin. My first big move was secure a feature with Riff raff in December 2012.
And then SXSW came around which is a huge music festival for the city and we threw an event called the TEACH fest. Our first event was amazing and we had Wiz Khalifa all of Taylor gang, and so many more famous and well-known artists it was a great experience being out of high school for only a few months and already shaking hands and next to some of the biggest stars in the industry. Myself and Lil Sicc worked together for the next nine years making so much noise, throwing so many shows, creating opportunities, discovering people and so much more. I really think a book would be best to get into detail behind how much work has been put in. Doing music with Texas legends like Paul Wall and Lil Keke to traveling all across the United States with riff raff. I even got into the Management scene and blew up Junebug who created the #Junebugchallenge we traveled for six months straight and I secured deals with Reebok, Beats by Dre, NFL, Snapchat, Zaxbys and much more. Hard work really pays off. I’ve been doing this for a long time and I’m still doing it and only getting bigger and better with everything, I live in Los Angeles now and have my own store, I run Longhorn daiquiris in Austin and so much more too much to include in only one interview
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not a smooth road but I’ve always just focused on being myself and doing my thing no matter what.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
