Check Out Rhea Enifo’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhea Enifo.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born in the U.S. Virgin Islands to a teenage mother, the first of her three daughters. When I was six years old, my mother had an opportunity that took us to New York. For five years, we built a life there until a fire destroyed our building and left us with nothing. That moment became a turning point for my mother. Taking a leap of faith, she moved us to Houston, Texas
.
Starting over was not easy. We moved from place to place until my mother finally secured a stable job. People often called her “independent,” but in reality, she was simply doing whatever it took to provide for her daughters. From watching her, I learned early that nothing in life is handed to you. You have to work for what you want. I inherited my determination and survival instincts from her, and by the age of fourteen, I was already working my first job.

From a young age, I was determined to be self-sufficient so my mother wouldn’t have to worry about me. After high school, I went to college, but by my second semester, I was working three jobs just to stay afloat. Eventually, I left school to focus on working full time and living on my own. That decision marked the beginning of my “survival mode” years. I was independent and determined never to move back home—but also caught in an endless cycles of working without a true sense of purpose.

Yet, despite my independence, I still longed for something more. I thought marriage would bring the fulfillment I had been searching for. At first, life was good, but deep inside, I still felt something was missing. I told myself it was because we didn’t have children, but the truth was, I was still searching for purpose. Over time, my marriage unraveled, leading to separation and eventually divorce. Divorce shook my self-esteem and identity, but I kept surviving—working, rebuilding, and moving forward without ever truly healing.

I longed for love, marriage, children, and clarity of purpose, yet along the way I faced heartbreak: failed relationships, a miscarriage, and even a stillbirth. Through it all, the only constant in my life was work and my determination to remain independent.

Things began to shift when I remarried in 2016. I still didn’t fully know my purpose, but I was learning to live more intentionally. Soon after, I became pregnant with my son—and he completely changed my life. His arrival marked a new beginning. Though his start was difficult—he had a seizure immediately after birth and was later diagnosed with spontaneous epilepsy—he has continued to thrive. His resilience has been one of my greatest teachers.

Motherhood was nothing like I imagined. Though I had cared for my nieces and nephews, raising my own child was completely different. I often felt unprepared and often alone. The support I expected wasn’t always there, but God placed a few people in my life to help me through those vulnerable seasons. At the same time, I was balancing motherhood, marriage, and trying to build a business. The weight of it all was overwhelming, and slowly, my marriage began to fall apart.

During that time, I felt inspired to start making jewelry. Excited, I immediately bought supplies, but with everything else going on, my passion sat on the back burner. Still, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing. On the outside, life appeared fine, but inside, I was quietly crumbling. I had reached the end of myself.

In 2021, I gave my life to Christ and was baptized. That decision became the true turning point of my story. I was broken, lost, and in desperate need of healing, and I found it in Him. As my faith grew through prayer, study, and surrender, my marriage continued to unravel.

By 2022, my husband had left, and at the same time my son was struggling to adjust to school. We later learned he was on the autism spectrum in addition to living with epilepsy. With so much happening, I made the decision to leave my job and care for him full-time, homeschooling him myself.

It felt like my life was falling apart, but in reality, it was falling into place—into God’s plan. Out of that season came beauty: I launched Favoredones Boutique, began homeschooling, and became an author of children’s faith-based stories. Today, Favoredones Boutique is now my platform to share handmade, faith-inspired jewelry along with the books and journals I’ve written. It is more than a business—it is a reflection of my journey, my faith, and God’s grace in my life.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Has it been a smooth road? Not at all. I first had the idea to make jewelry in 2019, but I didn’t know how to bring that desire to life. I bought supplies, started projects, and then put them aside—over and over again. It wasn’t until 2022 that I truly began practicing and learning new techniques—but even then, I would set it down.

The last time I picked it up, however, something was different. I invited the Holy Spirit into the process. I prayed, “God, You gave me this desire—show me what You want me to do with it.” From there, everything changed. I learned about different types of beads, threading, and accessories, and began creating during daily worship—a practice that has continued ever since.

Another unexpected gift in my journey has been becoming a teacher to my son. At first, I didn’t see this role in me, but God has been developing it so I can help him grow into who He created him to be. Homeschooling has allowed me to truly know my son—his strengths, his needs, and how to guide him. Through the daily challenges, I see resilience and determination not only in him, but also in myself.

This journey has also stretched me creatively, inspiring me to begin writing children’s stories. Just as jewelry-making became a way to share God’s love, storytelling has become another avenue to sow seeds of faith, hope, and encouragement into the lives of children.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is patience. Patience with my process, with my business, and in every area of life. My work is not about chasing material gain; it’s about allowing others to experience love, joy, and peace through each creation. Every piece reflects the love of God flowing through me.

I’ve also learned to lean completely on God, trusting that my work is not accomplished in my own strength. When I release my own ideas of how things should look and surrender to the will of God, everything flows smoothly. It’s not about my will, but God’s will being done in and through my life.
