Check Out Ronnie Vincent’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronnie Vincent.

Hi Ronnie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Ronnie Vincent and I am a Professional Portrait Photographer that specializes in High School Seniors. I wasn’t always a photographer, I was on the other side of the camera for many years as a professional model & actor. I started out on a television show called “Romper Room” around 1974. Although retired from acting and modeling, I remain a member of the Screen Actor’s Guild, I am inactive, but in good standing. From 1995 – 2020, alongside doing small acting jobs I was employed as a flight attendant for a major airline. It was during my tenure at this job that I had a major life-changing accident. During a flight from New Orleans to Tampa Bay my aircraft encountered clear air turbulence. The plane dropped several thousand feet within seconds while I was standing in the aisle. Thankfully, God spoke to me split seconds before the turbulence telling me a matter of factly, “GET DOWN!” I immediately got down on my hands and knees when the plane began shaking very violently. Within the blink of an eye, I was thrown from the floor to the ceiling whereby my skull broke the ceiling of the plane. Once the plane regained altitude I was then thrust back down to the floor. These few seconds of time would change the course of my life forever. The amount and type of injuries I sustained prevented me from being able to continue as a professional actor plus because of the constant pain I had, I was unable to exercise thereby leading me to gain weight bringing my modeling career to an abrupt ending. I was lost not knowing what I would do. I was out of work from the airline job for a year and a half not knowing if I would even be able to perform my job duties. All streams of revenue were instantly gone. I fought through mental, emotional and physical pain to force myself back to the airline. In 2010, I needed something more in my life so I started dabbling in photography and five years later decided to take it more seriously so I enrolled in the Professional Photographers curriculum at the New York Institute of Photography graduating in 2016. That same year I started my business, Ronnie Vincent Photography, LLC.

With Ronnie Vincent Photography I had a fresh new outlook on life. I felt renewed by being able to teach people who did not like their pictures taken, for whatever reason (shy, nervous, not confident, etc..) how to pose and how to be comfortable in front of the camera. My enjoyment is when I first show my clients their photos and they see how beautiful they are. Most people do not like the way they look and for me to be able to show them otherwise, show them how the rest of the world sees them, as a beautiful creation of GOD, is a blessing for me that will never get old.

In 2020, I decided I could no longer take the pain that I constantly dealt with while working on the aircraft so I left the airline job and began working full-time as a Professional Photographer.

Today, as mentioned earlier, we specialize in High School Seniors. We create a custom photo shoot that is more of a Model Fashion Shoot than a school picture-taking session. I’m talking about an experience that will last a lifetime for the senior. Once I have the core part of the photo I then do post-production on the client’s favorite pictures and create one of a kind photographic wall art that will be hung on the walls throughout their home. One of the biggest questions my studio is asked is, “Do you sell the digitals?” The short answer is yes, but the reason you chose my studio is because I produce finished works of art and that is what I plan on doing for every client. If a potential client inquires about costs, we ask them how important are the pictures, you want taken, are to you? If they think a cell phone picture is good enough or they say they just want digital images on a thumb drive never to be displayed and enjoyed, I kindly tell them I am not the right photographer for you.

Every client I work with is treated with the finest first-class customer service from initial inquiry, photo shoot, through to the delivery of their finished works of Photographic Wall Art and all places in between. We have plenty of fun during our time with you, our clients, but I also take your Future Memories (because that is what photos are when you look back on that frozen time in your life) very seriously.

Ronnie Vincent Photography consists of me, my wife and a Professional Hair & Make Up Artist. We have been bouncing ideas around about what other types of sessions we can start offering and we have come up with some promising ideas that will be completely separate from the High School Seniors. To find out what they are, continue to follow us on our website, Facebook, & Instagram, the ladies will definitely want to take part in these photo shoots.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Always believe in yourself, and never take your current situation as “a Fact” as to how your life is supposed to be. If you are unhappy about something, make changes and move forward. As long as you do not hurt someone else in order to make yourself happy or put yourself in a better position go for it! Lastly, if you have a dream NEVER EVER QUIT and NEVER GIVE UP! Your happiness and success could be right around the corner.
