Check Out Ryan Greear’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Greear.

Hi Ryan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
All started as a kid in the barbershop admiring guys chat and joke around with the fellas for a living…. Always thought, that’s gotta be the ultimate job! Fast forward years and years later after many careers like a dental assistant and a chef, I finally got to full fill my dreams of being a barber when I moved to Houston in 2017. By the end of 2019 I opened my own little shop in Old Town Spring, Buzzard’s Barbershop and for 5 years that is where I built my business and clientele up to what it is today. Now just recently here in 2025 we’ve moved the shop into Houstons ultimate car country club “The Shop Club Houston”. It’s an absolute dream running the shop from inside that place. Surrounded but some of the most amazing classic and exotic cars Houstons ever seen. Being a barber has also let me do other things like my dogs. I also dabble in the dog world and the other half of my life is devoted to the bunch of French bulldogs we have.
Happily married to my wife Courtney Greear for almost 5 years now, we have 3 teenage kids and like a said, a ton of Frenchies 😂

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well definitely starting your own shop from nothing was absolutely tough. I started with 1 client. Then hustled my butt off to find more. Not only that, I had been open 2 months before COVID hit in 2020 and the government shut us barbershops down for a bit. We made it work, and struggled for a bit but after all said and done…. Its been so worth it, and so fulfilling

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in old school traditional haircutting. Classic hair cuts and hot towels shaves.

None of this new fancy weird trends. We keep it old school

What makes you happy?
My wife, she keeps me grounded. She always is there for me. If it wasn’t for her, I’m not sure i would be anywhere near what I am today.
