Samantha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My Name Is Samantha Peutous aka Sammz, The CEO of SammzDesignz. I am a Mother, Wife, visionary and an event planner/designer. I enjoy crafting and spending time with my family and friends.
As a Jamaican the goal was always to be a nurse or a doctor no matter what. after years of attempting to do so with little interest. My vision and path change once my family and friends started asking me to do little setups here and there and then recommending people to me.
SammzDesignz was founded In 2019 after so many people started reaching out for me to do their events after seeing what I did for my family and friends.
My Motto Is: Creating Beautiful Outcomes.
1 Am passionate about creating a one-of-a-kind experience that captures every beautiful moment of each lovely client dream celebration.
When I’m not working on my clients amazing celebrations/ milestones, you can find me either with my family and friends, helping another planner or by waterfront.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey was not easy at all. From vendors disappointing me, not showing up with my rentals, double booking my event, bringing rentals in the middle of my clients events, canceling my order the day of etc… the list goes on. Either way I always come out on top cause I don’t take no for an answer.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have an event planning/designing business, where I plan and execute people’s baby shower, birthday party, graduation, engagement party and so much more.
I’m so proud of my business and where I am today. I love that people trust me with their special moments and know that I will bring their vision to light no matter how small or big their events are.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Build a team, make vendor friends and do not rent anything under your name for anyone, unless they are booking you directly. Everyone kinda does the same thing in this industry so it’s your job to put your spin on it.
Don’t dim your light to make others comfortable, there’s enough space in the world for everyone to shine.
