Check Out Stefanie Capa’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stefanie Capa.

Hi Stefanie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started this journey with my own fitness and health journey in 2020. After reaching my goals and doing a lot of personal research, I realized that I wanted to help others achieve their health and fitness goals. I started my education with ISSA in 2022 and ultimately was certified as a Personal Trainer and Nutritionist. I started my career with another outdoor fitness company, as an independent contracted trainer. After a couple years I decided to start F.T.M. Fitness and Nutrition. I really wanted to focus on Strength training. I like to say, “I’m bringing the gym to the outdoors.” I bring weight benches, barbells, plyo boxes, and other equipment that most outdoor fitness classes don’t usually introduce.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say it’s been a fairly smooth ride with a few bumps but I don’t find it necessary to disclose them as I don’t like to disparage others. I would just say that, I feel grateful for every opportunity that was afforded to me to get me to where I am now. Every situation whether good or bad is an opportunity to grow, learn, pivot, and become better at what you do. So I just focus on my clients and the trust they’ve put in me to help them reach their goals.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I own and run outdoor group fitness classes Monday through Friday with classes at 5am, 8:20am, and 5:40pm. What I feel really sets me apart is that I bring out equipment that isn’t usually seen for these types of classes. My motto is F.T.M. Fitness bringing the gym to the outdoors. My main focus is strength training specifically resistance training, which is how you train in order to build muscle. I focus on helping my clients with functional strength that will improve their daily lives for longevity, along with varying how they train to help improve cognitive function. We also have a lot of FUN! We are a community that really has become like a big family and whether it’s your first class or your 100th when you come you feel included. Throughout the year, I will put on various challenges to encourage my clients to push themselves beyond just their weekly classes they attend. We are having one come up where we will doing 30 days of a modified Murph challenge. It’s a tough challenge but after some time training at F.T.M. Fitness you will feel like you can take on any challenge.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
That’s hard because most my clients would probably say I’m an open book and probably an over sharer. Like I said, we have become a family so I am very comfortable with them and I believe they are very comfortable with me. I think one thing they would be surprised about is how introverted I actually am. When I first started with them I used to have to think about teaching my classes as if I was acting because I was absolutely terrified!
