Hi Stephanie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I got started in 2016 with lace & I’ve been braiding since I was a little girl. I grew up in the shop my mom & grandma went to. As years passed, I watched a lot of YouTube & even practiced on myself to enhance my skills. I feel like there’s no better way to show your talent & passion.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
So far, so good, lol. It took me six years to finally quit my job in the hospital & take on styling full time. I don’t regret my decision one bit. I think it was the best decision I’ve ever made.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a hairstylist. When I say that, I’m bragging because I literally can do it all. I don’t specialize in just lace or just braids or just ponytails or just cutting hair. I think I may be most known for being able to part & braid my own hair to the scalp. I believe I set myself apart from others by wanting to do more then just one thing & being very very versatile in hair altogether. You can tell my passion level for hair is above & beyond.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Yes. I love Instagram & Tik Tok. Seeing hair excites me lol it’s like I love to see hair being done. Seeing others work helps me stay on top of my creativity & keeps me motivated.
