Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Tunchez.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Honestly, I never set out thinking, “I’m going to own a social media company and a photo studio one day.” It all happened pretty naturally.
I’ve always loved being creative. I started taking photos and making content because it was something I genuinely enjoyed, and before I knew it, friends, local businesses, and musicians were asking me to help them too. One opportunity led to another, and I realized I could turn something I loved into a business.
That’s how Bloom HTX Media was born. I started helping businesses with social media, and content creation, and over time my client list kept growing. As I worked with more people, I realized that I wanted a space of my own and for others to be able to share that space too for their own content creating. That idea stuck with me, and eventually I took a leap and opened Bloom HTX Studio less than a month ago!
Building everything hasn’t been easy. For a long time I was working a full-time job during the day and spending nights and weekends shooting, editing, creating content, and growing my business. There were definitely moments where I questioned if I could do it all, but seeing my clients succeed and knowing I was building something that was truly mine kept me going.
Now I get to work with so many amazing people from small business owners and entrepreneurs to musicians and families, and I love helping bring their ideas to life. Whether it’s creating content that helps a business grow or capturing moments that people will look back on for years, that’s the part that makes all the hard work worth it.
I’m still learning, still growing, and honestly, I feel like this is just the beginning.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I wouldn’t necessarily call them challenges as much as moments where I had to learn to trust myself.
For most of my career, I always had the security of a steady paycheck. Starting my own business meant investing a lot of money upfront without knowing exactly when, or if, I would make it back. I remember asking myself questions like, Can I really do this? Will this work? What do I need to do to make this profitable? What if it doesn’t?
Looking back, I realize those questions were really about believing in myself. I’ve always been someone who thinks things through and makes calculated decisions, but there’s a big difference between planning something and actually taking the leap. At some point, you have to stop overthinking, trust the work you’ve put in, and execute.
That mindset shift has probably been the biggest part of my journey. Once I committed and told myself, “I’m doing this,” everything started to feel possible. I still don’t have all the answers, but I’ve learned to trust that I’m capable of figuring things out along the way.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in photography, content creation, and social media management through Bloom HTX Media. I love helping businesses, entrepreneurs, musicians, and families tell their story through creative, high-quality content.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just focus on creating something that looks good. I think about the purpose behind it and how it can help my clients grow their brand or business. My background in marketing has helped me combine creativity with strategy.
One of my biggest accomplishments to date has been opening Bloom HTX Studio. It was a goal of mine for a long time, and I’m proud to have created a space where creatives and small businesses can bring their ideas to life.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I was born and raised in Houston, so this city will always be my home. What I love most is the diversity. You can experience so many different cultures, foods, and communities all in one city, and there’s always something new to discover. I also love how supportive the small business community is. I’ve met so many incredible entrepreneurs who genuinely want to see each other succeed, and that’s been really inspiring.
If I had to pick one thing I like least, it would definitely be the traffic. I don’t think anyone enjoys that! I spend a lot of time driving between clients and shoots, so I think every Houstonian can agree that sitting on I-45 or 610 isn’t anyone’s favorite part of the day!
