Check Out Tenisha Lynette Jacquett’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tenisha Lynette Jacquett.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have always enjoyed making cocktails for family gatherings and/or friends’ event. I decided to enroll at the Texas School of Bartending. There I learned the basics and started my bartending career for which I quickly found that restaurant bartending was not my forte. I designed my logo, purchased bar tools, and contacted a web developer to create my web page. From there, TLJ’s Mobile Mixology, LLC was birthed.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. However, it is much more smoother now than it was in the beginning. Struggles early on were managing pricing guest amount contracted for opposed to those that were served.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m the owner of TLJ’s Mobile Mixology, LLC. It’s a chic concierge bartending service. It is affectionately known as TMM. Within the business, I also teach mixology classes as well as sell bartending boards. A bartender board is my take on a charcuterie board but with the client’s liquor of choice and bar supplies. The TMM specialties are craft cocktails and those made with fresh, never frozen, or canned ingredients. Depending on the season, I hand-press fruits for my cocktails. I do not use any pre-made mixers or juices. I am most proud of the word of mouth and Google referrals. They really warm my heart.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk-taking is fun but I wouldn’t call myself a die-hard risk-taker. Yet, I did take a chance on starting my business. Taking a risk on myself was in essence proving that I could successfully accomplish the goals I set for myself. Thus far, I have met my short-term goals and will continue waging against myself until my ultimate long-term goals are achieved.
