Check Out Teresa Belton’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teresa Belton.

Teresa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I recently shared my educational journey a few years ago. In my senior year of high school I had to drop out not because I was pregnant or ill but because my mother decided to move to Austin Texas. I came home to find a moving truck moving things from our apartment and when I approached and asked why were we moving? She replied you’re not moving I am. I immediately called my brother who was a freshman in college himself and also was still at home. At the time he was at work but came home quickly he approached my mother with a very serious question what about Teresa? She is still in school. My mother’s reply was cold and uncaring’ “The rent is paid until the end of the month. My brothers reply but it’s the 15th”. She walked off left me and my brother standing as they drove off in a U-Haul truck. Bottom line I had to get a full time job and go to night school for my GED. Today I hold 3 degrees Business, Psychology and now a Masters in Education which came after my struggles. I shared this story in an anthology series and ever since I have written or been asked to share in multiple anthologies about parts of my life. And as an added bonus I wrote in a Christian magazine called Increase Magazine out of Georgia.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My main struggle was anxiety and depression.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Special Education teacher. I specialize in working with students on the spectrum both verbal and non-verbal. I am most proud of my students because for the past 3 years they have become published authors. The school district has highlighted my hard work and effort by awarding me the employee recognition award 23-24 and special education teacher of the month 4/2026. In ministry I received a Presidential Achievement Award 12/2024.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Beloved, I declare Psalms 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”Hear the word of the Lord, I decree and declare you will NOT Collapse, Succumb or Buckle under pressure the enemy throws your way. Hallelujah! I declare God is our absolute covering and our living strength now. Beloved, when trouble surrounds you, Gods hand of protection is always present to rescue us from harms way. I decree and declare you can Step forward without fear or reservation because an unShakeable fortress covers your life. NO storm is bigger than our God. I declare NO trouble is too great, and NO crisis is hidden from His sight, for He is already present in our tomorrow. Beloved, you are NEVER abandoned, nor left defenseless, helpless or unprotected in your valley situation. I declare stand up secure in your GODfidence, you’re anchored in Gods Grace, know you are safe in the palm of His hand today and 4Ever.
