Today we’d like to introduce you to Todd Jean Louis.
Hi todd, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hi my name is Todd jean Louis stage name TODDISODD and I am a singer and songwriter from Brooklyn New York I was born and raised here most of my life I am the middle child of three boys ,born to Haitian immigrants who came to the US in the 1980s ,at. very young age I didnt know what I wanted to be when I grew up and I would just go for anything that sounded like it would make me rich ,Ill never forget when I told my mom I wanted to be a doctor and she didn’t let it go even till this day haha, as I went along life I discovered that I could sing when I was fifteen one day I randomly just decided to sing a note and it sounded really good ,that’s when I had an epiphany and saw a future version of myself on stage dressed in all white ,I spent the rest of the day singing the song airplanes by Hailey Williams and B.o.b making sure I perfected the hook ,not long after I decided to pursue acting while music was still in the back burner of my brain ,after countless scams and run ins with the wrong people I decided to go to college for acting in Los Angeles where I ended dropping out and staying there ,I spent two years in la ,I realized I lost the passion for Acting and starting making beats and writing hooks which I was really good at ,shortly after I ended up coming back home to nyc after finding out my dad was sick and have been back ever since ,a year after my father suffered two strokes which left him unable to swallow or walk ,I decided I was never going back because of it and decided to stay and help my mom with the bills and caring for him ,its been a hard 8 years since he had the stroke but that didnt stop me from creating it actually influenced some of my work ,I have out out ten plus songs and I am drooping my first ep at the end of June titled weirdo.in this project it will focus in my intrusive thoughts and my daily battle with anxiety and the thoughts that come with it most of the songs are me talking to myself .I hope that some can relate
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
yea after my father suffered a stroke it became very hard for my family ,it really showed me how the healthcare system treats its citizens ,while on this journey I’ve had my fair share of run ins with people who were trying to scam me luckily I know how to spot them out instantly ,it really baffles me to know there are people out there willing to manipulate you and lie in order o fill their pockets ,but I didnt let that discourage me ,one of the things you have to deal with a independent Artists is the lack of support from your friends and family and the constant rejection

I specialize in creating songs and making beats and singing and rapping on those same beats ,what sets me apart from others is that I don’t go for the norm and what’s popular I take my time with my songs and always make them with intention ,I make songs about how I feel in the moment or things I feel on a daily basis ,ill even make silly songs about me hating winter or how I have weird vivid dreams every night ,I don’t go for your typical heart break songs and what not I go for the things people are afraid to say out loud
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
they may not know that I study pop artist from the 80s and 90s very hard its almost like an obsession ,one of my main muses is Madonna ,I feel like she is the epitome of what every pop star should be constantly reinventing herself and changing her sound something I strive to do ,they also may not know that im a huge loner and enjoy my alone time im the type to go to the movies and a restaurant alone
