Today we’d like to introduce you to Zehra Talib.
Hi Zehra, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey has never been a straight line—it’s been a beautiful intersection of purpose, strategy, creativity, and faith.
For over a decade, I worked in behavioral science and international development, leading programs on youth empowerment, human rights, and global health. Along the way, I supported global convenings and coordinated experiences with presidents, world leaders, and changemakers. That’s where I saw firsthand what happens when strategy, excellence, and purpose come together and I fell in love with the power of bringing people together around a shared vision.
That’s the foundation Allec Collective was built on. I launched it to help purpose-driven organizations build the strategy, systems, and structure they need to bring their vision to life. But over time, I realized something: a great idea isn’t enough. People need intentional spaces where they can actually connect, grow, and be transformed.
As life would have it—or should I say, as God would have it—a series of moments led me to a deeper understanding of my calling. As a result, I found myself building community for people who were lost and looking: looking for healing, for purpose, for connection with God, for clarity on who they were created to be.
What started as a simple gathering became what God ultimately named BeautiFire.
Looking back, it’s humbling to see how every season—every experience, every unexpected turn—was preparing me for the work I love most today: creating spaces, systems, and moments that help people and organizations not just grow, but truly flourish.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Oh my goodness, where do I begin? There is no roadmap for creating a vision that only you can see, and stepping away from the security of a traditional career to pursue what I believed God was calling me to build required a tremendous amount of faith. There were seasons of uncertainty, financial limitations, and moments where I wrestled with whether I was truly equipped for the assignment in front of me. But those moments were also where I grew the most. They taught me to trust God beyond what I could see, to embrace the process of building, and to understand that the weight of the vision often requires a deeper level of dependence and surrender.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m the Founder of Allec Collective and BeautiFire— two expressions of my passion for helping organizations and people step fully into their purpose.
Through BeautiFire, we create spaces for people to encounter God, experience healing, discover their identity, and walk confidently in their calling through discipleship, mentorship, retreats, and transformational experiences.
Through Allec Collective, I partner with churches, nonprofits, and purpose-driven organizations to bring vision to life through strategy, storytelling, creative experiences, event production, and systems. At the core of my work is a belief that transformation doesn’t just happen through what we say—it happens through the environments we create. That belief is what inspired Milby Manor, our boutique retreat residence in Houston designed as a place where leaders, ministries, and communities can step away from the noise, reconnect with God, and experience renewal. It is an extension of the same vision behind everything I build: creating intentional spaces where people can rest, reflect, and flourish.
What I’m most proud of is not simply what we’ve created, but the transformation that happens within those spaces, the person who finds hope, discovers purpose, or walks away changed.
What sets me apart is that I create intentional experiences that help people feel seen, connected, and inspired. I naturally think both strategically and creatively, which allows me to dream beyond what exists while also building the systems and structure needed to bring that vision to life.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Honestly…seek first the Kingdom of God and everything else will fall into place (Matthew 6:33).
