Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Wilks.
Paige, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Art has always played an important role in my life. Growing up, I always dreamed and envisioned myself becoming an artist. Although I dabbled a lot in photography through the years, it wasn’t until my children were born that it became a passion. Through them, I felt a need to not only document and tell our story, but to also create art out of seemingly normal activities. I am happy to be able to offer this same type of photography to my clients which range from wedding day coverage, documentary newborn and family sessions.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My photography is meant to capture real life and emotions. I use a documentary approach when photographing. Whether it be a wedding, the welcoming of a new baby, or capturing a family at a certain point in time together, my goal is to capture my clients for who they really are. Although light is always a huge inspiration, I find even greater joy in capturing special moments between loved ones. Through my photography, I hope to show each person I photograph that not only are they beautiful, but their life and story is beautiful. I hope to inspire others to find beauty in the everyday, and even in the mess!
Artists face many challenges, but what do you feel is the most pressing among them?
I think the biggest challenge for today’s artist is staying true to yourself and your vision. Challenging myself artistically helps me to stay inspired and focused.
