Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaina Peana.
August 1, 2011 will go down in history as the beginning of not just a business but a movement. Studlyfenation was birthed by CEO and Founder Shaina Peana, in NY affectionately known as Retro.K. Peana started this movement to shine a light on LGBT, specifically the youth, that just because we’re labeled as studs that does not stop the calling on our lives and limit what we are capable of pursuing. Peana started this movement to be a beacon of light for LGBT and to be a testament that you can march at the beat of your own drum and not skip a beat. The purpose of Studlyfenation is to experience life, give hope, and shed light on what it means to identify as a stud and to showcase the visual and fine arts of members of the LGBT community. Here at Studlyfenation, we not only provide motivation, but we also highlight the musicians, artists, poets, dancers, models, fashion designers, etc. We want to promote all artists that are up and coming and provide support and tools on how to take their music careers to the next level. We don’t only shine a light on fine arts but also visual arts. For our photographers, videographers, and audio engineers, we provide consultations on how to maximize your brand and networking opportunities in order to become successful.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say it has been some struggles trying to push my ideas and what Studlyfenation is about but it seems to be taking off slowly.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a very passionate person when it comes to all types of media form, I’m an audio engineer, an artist and a photographer and I love what I do and I love being able to help other artists break out of their shyness. I specialize pushing artists to be seen and be here by offering services by helping them get the promotion and help they need to chase their dreams in the art world. I’m mostly proud of the awesome people I’ve got to work with that never felt they could perform or ever do a video shoot. I’m also proud that I’ve pushed others to do why they have been scared to do. What sets me apart from others would be my drive and passion. I see in others that they don’t see in there self that makes me want to work with them and force them to break out of their shyness.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
It would definitely be motivation books of all kinds and listening to Meditation music.
