Today we’d like to introduce you to Ty The Samurai.
Hi Ty, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Music always provided a safe haven for me, an escape from my currently reality. Whether it was struggles at home, battles with school or internal conflicts I knew when I put my headphones in that I could separate myself from the world and my thoughts. I never really understand the power that not just music but sound holds. It eventually came to a point where I didn’t just want to be on the sidelines as just a listener, I wanted to create as well. I created a multitude of different sounds and styles by simply listening to many different genres and channeling my emotions and moods to write themselves on beats. Why do I go by Tythesamurai? Samurai’s were some of the fiercest warriors known to man and I feel that we all have a warrior fighting off suicidal thoughts, bad habits and other daily struggles. I make music to create a personal experience for each listener. I want to create memories. Another reason is I just want to be remembered for something good.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
This journey has definitely been challenging, but then again what is success without a challenge? I still struggle with mental conflicts and doubt but I know that comes with this. I often think that I won’t be successful because of constant distractions from social media and not staying focused when I should. I have the sound and the drive. I just need to remember that and have patience.

What’s next?
I want to break barriers in the music industry. Start a record label and look for the artist that don’t have the recognition they deserve and make it a bit easier for them to reach who they need to.
