Hi Ahmed , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my journey as a pharmacist, graduating from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Assiut University in 2006. After gaining valuable experience as a community pharmacist and a Senior Medical Representative at Abbott Egypt, I transitioned into entrepreneurship. I founded Gardenia Pharmacies in Egypt, which grew into a chain of seven premium locations with a strong e-commerce presence.

In 2021, I moved to Houston, Texas, to pursue my MBA and simultaneously established Texas Beauty & Health Inc. My initial focus was on beauty and health products, which evolved into Texas Toy Treasure, a unique brand offering character-themed accessories and lifestyle products. This venture began with kiosks in Houston’s busiest locations and expanded to online platforms like Amazon and eBay, where I prioritize SEO and compliance with all regulations.

As I continue to grow my business, I aim to open a 2000 sq. ft. retail store, blending beauty, toys, and gifts in one innovative space. My entrepreneurial journey has been driven by my passion for creating brands that connect with customers and offer memorable, high-quality products.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey has certainly been full of challenges. Moving to the U.S. was a major transition, both personally and professionally. Adapting to a new market, especially in the competitive beauty and accessories sector, required a deep understanding of U.S. customer behavior. I had to quickly learn what products would resonate with consumers, which involved a lot of market testing to identify winning products for my online business.

On a personal level, relocating my family from Egypt to the U.S. presented its own struggles. Like many newcomers, we didn’t have a local family support system to help us understand the rules, living conditions, and business culture here. It was essential to navigate everything from settling into a new home to building connections and relationships with business partners in a country where we had no established networks.

These experiences have been difficult, but they’ve also been invaluable in helping me grow as both a business owner and an individual. Each challenge taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of surrounding myself with the right people, even when starting from scratch.

We’ve been impressed with Texas Beauty & Health Inc., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Texas Beauty & Health Inc. is constantly evolving, and we’re actively discovering new potential products to expand our catalog. In the beauty and health sector, we sell primarily through our e-commerce platform, texasbeauty.org, as well as Amazon and eBay. What’s unique about our approach is that we also act as a bridge for U.S. brands, offering products like beauty, hair care, and vitamins to our overseas network in bulk.

We work closely with manufacturers here in the U.S., focusing on top products like hair care, skin care, and multivitamins. We request quotations for products that we believe will perform well in specific regions overseas, where we already have established clients. Our strategy includes studying both the U.S. market and identifying gaps overseas. Once we find promising products, we hold Zoom meetings with our overseas clients to present the benefits and features of these American brands, encouraging bulk purchases through our network.

Additionally, we’re working diligently to source reliable, high-quality products for our Texas Toy Treasure category. By using various tools to track trends and identify top items, we ensure our catalog stays fresh and aligned with market demand. My extensive experience with online businesses overseas has been instrumental in helping me understand what products fit both my overseas clients and the growing market here in the U.S.

Overall, we’re committed to expanding our offerings, providing both American and international customers with products that deliver value, quality, and excitement.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that might surprise people who know me or my work is that my entrepreneurial journey didn’t start with a background in business—it began with my training and career as a pharmacist. Before transitioning to the world of e-commerce and retail, I spent years working in healthcare, managing pharmacies, and handling regulatory affairs. This experience in pharmacy actually helped me develop a strong foundation in attention to detail, customer care, and understanding consumer needs, which I’ve carried into my current business ventures.

Additionally, what many may not know is how much effort went into relocating my family to the U.S. and building a business from the ground up, without the typical support system many rely on. Settling into a new country, adapting to new rules and ways of life, while also growing a business and creating connections, has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. It has taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of perseverance.
