Today we’d like to introduce you to Aimee Ravichandran.
Aimee, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started as a social media manager for the Houston known Sandy Lawrence with Perceptive Public Relations company. After two years, I moved to Clear Lake and slowly worked my way up to becoming Vice President of the small PR company. During this time, I decided to open my own business, Abundantly Social, a social media marketing company.
At the beginning of 2021, Sandy Lawrence decided to retire and asked if I would take over the business. I decided to merge it with my own company, Abundantly Social. Sandy has a love for working with Authors and getting their stories out to the world. A love that she passed on to me. I currently run Abundantly Social and an Author community called Through The Eyes of Authors. I am on the board of the Houston Writers Guild and Authorology. I also started a book box subscription service that helps get some of these fantastic published books into the hands of readers, along with everything else that I currently do. I am first a mother to two amazing daughters, Meadow (2) and Skye (1), and a wife to an amazing husband who supports me in all these wonderful and crazy dreams that I have.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t say it has always been a smooth road, but it has been a fulfilling road. There were some obstacles along the way, but all of those made me a stronger person in both business and personally. One of the biggest obstacles that I have faced would be my age—being 29 and working with people who are older and sometimes wiser than I can create some obstacles. Always trying to stay ahead o the curve and what is trending with authors to help make them BestSellers can also be another challenge, but it is a challenge that I love because it pushes my skills and knowledge to new levels.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Abundantly Social is more than just a Public Relations and Digital Marketing business. We want to help writers get their stories out to everyone and spread their work. That connects you with other writers/authors that are either in the same part of the process as you are or have been where you are and can offer some help or ideas. What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the diversity of the city and the ample amount of this to do in the city. I most dislike the traffic in the city.
