Today we’d like to introduce you to Alaysha Durall.
Alaysha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have always had a passion to serve others and had been servicing folks as a professional makeup artist for over 25 years. I always thought to myself, nothing could be more rewarding than assisting with the purchase of a home. This is the most rewarding level of service you can provide. Transitioning from full-time makeup artistry (contract and retail), I had a full-time job in the nutrition industry that I had outgrown and was ready to change things. I often thought to myself; There is MORE to life, and I have MORE TO OFFER! Soon after, real estate became my mission. I worked as the director of operations on my full-time job; (unfulfilled) while I took real estate classes on the weekends and in between all of this still managed to work as a makeup artist. After all of the hard work, I finally got licensed. I am a licensed real estate agent! Little did I know, getting the license was 1/4 of the work I needed to put in. I had no clue of what was in my next chapter. In my mind, I was hanging on to my job by a thread but needed my job to provide for my family as I made a very nice salary. After speaking daily with my closest friend who happens to be an entrepreneur and advised me that I will need to make a decision and do it soon. I couldn’t imagine not having a steady income to contribute to our household. I had always had a job and a steady paycheck. How would this look for my family. Well, I took the plunge and left my full-time job after 13 years and went to real estate full-time. Very soon after, I thought to myself, what have I done.
For two years, I had very little to no income and lived off of our savings and my husband’s salary. It was hard. In fact, it was very hard and sometimes unbearable. Despite all of the emotions, I always knew that I would come out on top! My husband was my biggest cheerleader and definitely one of my biggest supporters. He would tell me daily that if you keep doing the activities, you can’t help but to succeed. My real estate coach at the time sent me a referral and this was right around the time that Covid had shut us all down. Life was different and real estate was operating differently. The lease referral from my coach is where my life changed! The listing agent/broker was Victor Lofinmakin (my current broker). I fought to make this deal happen for my clients because they really wanted the property, and I needed that check. Little did I know that this one lease would have led to my career taking off as it did. Three years later. I have since been with Fairdale Realty since 2019 and have been able to make an impact on so many lives. In 2021, I was able to serve over 40 customers with their home buying and commercial needs. To wrap up 2021, I was acknowledged by my brokerage by receiving awards for the Most Closed Volume and The Top Gross Commission Income. I have BIG goals for 2022 and I cannot wait for the next phase of my real estate career!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all! The struggles came in many forms but the purest and hardest struggle was me being inexperienced but still doing all the activities and not seeing the results that I wanted or expected.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am part of a real estate team of real estate professionals called the Lofinmakin Group. I specialize in all aspects of real estate. Alaysha does it all; From residential & commercial with a niche for investors, I keep it interesting by playing on all fields of real estate.
What sets you apart from others?
I REFUSE to give up! I will find the gem in every situation.
What are you most proud brand wise?
That I am part of a brand that backs up everything we claim to exceed in which is Knowledge, Integrity and Service! This is what real estate is all about!
What do you want our readers to know about your brand, offerings, services, etc?
Fairdale Realty is a knowledgeable team of realtors in all areas of our practice. From loans to real estate contracts etc. We never stop learning and it shows in each encounter and transaction. We are advocates for our customers and have integrity; even when things get tough in a transaction. Integrity will always come first in my book, it is where the respect from others resides. We offer top-notch service and at this point in my career, I don’t think that there is a situation I have not experienced or fire that I can not put out.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
As stated in the introduction. I took a risk on myself by transitioning from a job into real estate. Since then, I have always bet on myself and look at this an opportunity to get up close and personal with my next stage in life. Anytime I feel uncomfortable, it signifies that I am doing the right thing and walking in my victory.
